How do wooden birds multiply?  This little question is puzzling. Months ago, during one of our walks to Wall Springs Park, we noticed a woodpecker in a tree stump. Without my glasses on, I thought it was real and slowly moved forward to take a photo. Surprise, it is wooden. Somebody carved it and put it there. My next thought was that there might be a webcam on it, watching. I have yet to see one but the bird is re-positioned from time to time and lately the number of birds has started to multiply. Amazing, that somebody makes these little birds out of wood and then places them on this stump, near one of the boardwalks leading out to a fishing pier in the park. Swimming with the giants is indeed what it looks like when you see this photo of the baby ducks I took this morning swimming with the mullet! These mullet are about 4 pounds each. They can grow up to about 7 pounds. That doesn't seem to bother these baby ducks who were competing with the mullet for the trail mix we were throwing into the water this morning over in Wall Springs Park on our walk. Even the seagulls attempted to get into the action and have a free breakfast. These morning walks always bring enjoyment and you can see why! 05/21/2012

Today I thought for sure I had landed in mullet heaven! We were on our morning walk in Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida and for the first time ever, Ron threw some trail mix into the water (we usually bring bread to feed the fish). I was shocked at the commotion this caused! Hundreds of mullet came to the surface to get the trail mix! While we always see mullet in the springs, which feed out to Boggy Bayou and the Gulf of Mexico, I had no idea how many mullet lurk in the deeper waters, out of sight. The trail mix brought up so many mullet that you could have actually walked across the water on mullet! Naturally, my iPhone 4s was in my pocket, so I was able to document this event for everyone! Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida has so many wild animals and birds that live there. You never know what to expect and should always have your camera with you. Luckily, I did indeed have my iPhone 4s along on my morning walk so I could capture two duck families in the springs. The family closest to the shore is the one with the youngest group of baby ducks while the group out in the water is somewhat older. We take bread and raisins to feed the ducks and fish when we go for our morning walks. It is wonderful, starting the day off with Mother Nature and her animals in Wall Springs Park! 05/11/2012

Our morning walks to Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida are always enjoyable. Whether ducks, ibis, heron or other native birds, there is always something to see. Along the way we see rabbits and squirrels but what is most amazing is the variety of fish we see in the estuaries. The mullet in these photos are not even the largest! We see hundreds of mullet each day in Wall Springs Park! Wall Springs Park's Observation Tower in Palm Harbor Florida is certainly worth a visit! We were there this weekend, enjoying the views of St Joseph's Sound and the Gulf of Mexico beyond. The Wall Springs Park Flasher! I was out for a walk early this morning through Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor Florida and was shocked to see a flasher! Standing on the side of the water, looking like some guy with his trenchcoat open to flash everybody, I spied this tall thin guy..... Tempted as I was to call the police on this guy, I figured a photo would do. Really, doesn't he look like a flasher?  The really funny part was that as I took a couple of photos of him, he turned his head toward me and opened his beak, as if to say something.
