Miami World Expo Center gets initial OK Planning and Zoning Board approves series of code exemptions for project   Miami’s Planning and Zoning Board unanimously approved zoning code exemptions to enable the development of a massive $600 million Marriott Marquis-branded convention hotel at the 4.7-acre former Miami Arena site. However, the 54-story Miami World Expo Center isn’t a done deal yet. The exemptions must also be approved by Miami commissioners. The project, which is being developed by the MDM Development Group and designed by Coral Gables architecture firm Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, is on the City Commission agenda for Oct. 9.   The votes are in and.... Skyrise Miami will rise to the sky! The Miami voters have approved SKYRISE to be built in downtown at Bayside Marina. This will be the tallest observation tower in the US and as serve as an entertainment complex.       Here is a peek of what the Biscayne link public bay walk will look like. This was all part of the deal made to allow Paraiso Bay condos to be built in Edgewater just north of downtown. Public access to the bay was required for final permits and now for several blocks we all can have direct access and a new wonderful place to stroll along the sparkling bay. The massive towers had to give this up but they too have this right at their doorsteps. Nice to see that the government works for the greater good once in awhile!

Over the past couple of years, the Miami area has been going through a real estate renaissance, a real boom in the market. The sales of the units in all South Florida locations, and especially in Miami area has been quite brisk, and that led developers to building even more towers and adding more units to the market. Again, they continued, and they continue, to sell very well. In fact, there have been tens of thousands of new units proposed in the region since the boom started a couple of years ago in 2011.
