  Grove at the Grand Bay condo construction has reached a point where you can now see the twist in the structures.     Construction is well underway for the pair of glass condo towers by starchitect Bjarke Ingels. Occupancy for these 2-4 bedroom luxury residences is expeced sometime in 2015.       Unity on the Bay, the large all inclusive church in Edgewater with a fantastic waterfront piece of real estate wants to sell most of its parking lot. At one point the church was in talks with two developers to purchase about two-thirds of the congregation's large surface parking lot along 22nd Street. Both, however, have dropped out of talks, and now Unity's looking for a new deep-pocketed developer for the parcel. This is across the side street (NE 22 ST) from Paramount Bay (glass building in back ground).   SKYRISE MIAMI   The voters of Miami-Dade county got the chance to decide on whether the city should build this mammoth new attraction. The developer says no public money needed and the return from tax revenue would be a huge windfall for the city. His numbers vary greatly from what real accountants are saying based on actual statistics but we don't care-it is approved! Miamians, it seems, like their crazy attractions, that is until they fade from favor and then we just tear them down and build new ones.

PMG has closed on the purchase of the Empire World Towers site in downtown Miami for $80 million. Talk about a landscape changer, i for one can't wait to see this structure go up. In 2008, the city approved a Major Use Special Permit that permitted twin 93-story towers on the site. The MUSP included the right to build 1,557 residential units and 24,741 square feet of retail space, FAA approval permitting building heights of 1,000 feet has expired and would need to be resubmitted. This will be the tallest building south of NYC. The property is within walking distance of Miami Worldcenter, which is scheduled to break ground by the first quarter of next year. Also nearby is All Aboard Florida’s MiamiCentral project, where site work is underway.

A total of $723 million in contracts for future commercial and residential construction were awarded in South Florida in June — up 101 percent year-over-year from $360 million, according to Dodge Research Analytics cited by the Daily Business Review. For those in construction law, the swath of cranes swinging above South Florida mean dollar signs. “It’s what I call good-economy construction litigation, meaning that things are being built and they are selling,” said attorney Alan Kluger, a partner at Kluger Kaplan. “We are in a boom.
