Wow, has it really been 46 years since the Apollo 11 mission?July 20th, 1969, Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that took Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins (yes there were three astronauts) to the moon. This day marked the first steps by humans on the Moon.At 4:18 p.m. the lunar module landed in the Sea of Tranquility. At 10:39 p.m. Neil Armstrong opened the hatch on the lunar module.  At 10:56 p.m. Neil Armstrong spoke his famous quote "that's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."  At 11:11 p.m. Buzz Aldrin joined Neil Armstrong.Looking back on this, I've always felt bad for Michael Collins. Everyone remembers Armstrong and Aldrin, but everyone seems to forget to mention the person that remained in orbit while they landed on the moon.  07/19/2015

Not long ago while binge watching the show Bloodlines, one of the characters in this show was kayaking in the early morning in the Keys. It looked so peaceful and easy. That's when I said out loud that I would like to do this. I say lots of things to these guys on a daily basis, but this one  stuck in their minds more than load the dishwasher.Since I made that comment I've looked at kayaks and realized that they aren't as simple as they look. I've watched videos and researched it out online and basically talked myself out of it.  But apparently I haven't talked anyone else out of it.  My husband brought up last night that we are going to Jonathan Dickenson State Park in the morning to rent kayaks and a canoe (canoe for us).
