It is time once again for us to remember and give thanks for our country's independence. It was 235 years ago that our forbears fought for and died so that this country could be free and independent! Our lovely town of Lake Worth, Florida will be doing the holiday a bit differently than in years past. On July 3rd, the Downtown Merchants Association will be sponsoring an Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration, There will be a raffle, pie baking and watermelon eating contests, and I believe that there will be a bounce house for the kids. All of these activities will be held along Lake Avenue and the side streets between Lake and Lucerne. The 4th will begin as it has in the past with the raft race in the Lake Worth lagoon.
