Jupiter's 12-and-under baseball team defeated the defending champion Mexican team 5-4 to capture the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen MD. on Saturday August 16, 2008. Kevin Fry, who batted .630 with four homers and nine RBI during the week was named the team's MVP. Mexico's MVP was Mario Rodriguez, who had a homer and single and three RBI in the title game. Jupiter Medical Center, the Jupiter Medical Center Auxiliary, and the Admirals Cove CARE Charitable Foundation presented 3 graduating seniors with Teen Volunteer Scholarships.
