In my travels around Naples, Bonita Springs, and Estero happy hours, there is one that stands out. Bice´ in Coconut Point. Whoever makes up the marketing program is right on the money. When I was living and playing in Manhattan, no matter where I roamed each evening, there was always a place that stood out as my refuge. Since I was not going to return to Boodle's Cafe, my own place on 77th street and 1st ave., I would go to Elaine's, which was only a short cab ride from my apartment. The attraction was the other patrons. Many of which were famous. But that is another story. My point is that there is a reason why Bice´ is the happy hour to go to, and it is not only that the appetizers and drinks are ½ priced from 3 to 7.The employees are happy to give you the discount. Swans of Coconut Point There is a large lake with a water feature fountain between Coconut Point Mall and Tamiami Trail. While taking a shortcut from Rapallo I crossed the big wooden bridge by Hemingway’s and Moe’s and saw this lovely swan keeping house. She’s on the south side of the bridge in some bunches of grass. Today, when I took her picture she had company.  Mr. Wonderful is curled up behind her. I am not sure how long the pair have been on the nest or how long it would take for peeps to hatch. I looked it up online - 35 days after the last egg is laid. There is some serious math involved, here, and some serious guessing as to how many eggs are actually there. Today I swung by the Sports Authority at Coconut Point Mall to pick up Clif Shot Bloks and new Thorlo socks for my run tomorrow.  I liketh the Thorlos but cha-ching they must be silk or something.  Anyhow, I ran into these little fellas on my way out and they performed like a show pony for the Clif Bloks that were Cola flavored.  For the record, Cola flavored Clif Bloks taste like my old Thorlo socks.  (a-choo paid placement Clif / Thorlo)  LOLSee you in at the Naples Daily News Half Marathon tomorrow. 01/19/2008

What's to do for fun on a Saturday night in Bonita Springs?  Try the new Muvico Theatre at the Coconut Point Mall in Estero, Florida.  Estero?  Sidebar:  Believe it or not there isn't a lot of fan fare leaving Bonita Springs and entering Estero on US 41 (which is also known as Tamiami Trail)  The two cities have more or less melded and there is a huge gray area around Coconut Point Mall and The Brooks. The Muvico Theater is 'spanking new, has state of the art sound and has those "tilty" seats so you can lean back.  I've only seen a few flicks at the new theater so far.    There are 16 individual theaters that offer varying start times so there is always a flick to catch without waiting.  The last time I went to Muvico they were kind enough to even provide a few popcorn bowls so my “gang... 11/03/2007

By popular demand and special request from one of our northern Michigan friends I took a trip through Coconut Point which includes The Coconut Point Mall, The Residences at Coconut Pointand Rapallo.  A buyer of one of the condos (which are mixed use  and built at the mall) lives thousands of miles away and wants to see what stage the development is in.  We chatted for about 20-30 minutes this morning and I told him I'd be in the area and it wouldn't be a big deal at all to take some new photos to share.  He was my third call in so many days asking about the Residences at Coconut Point.Unfortunately, the sun hasn't cooperated for two straight days.  Bummer, it's cloudy in Bonita Springs but the work still goes on.  They're wrapping up the buildings right now.  The streets have opened and... 10/26/2007
