Dunedin Florida is having it's annual Celtic Festival on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 11 am - 9:30 pm at Highlander Park. Some of the best Celtic Rock Bands in North America will be on hand for the celebration, along with vendors selling Celtic items as well as typical Celtic food. Dunedin Florida's Art Harvest is taking place today and tomorrow, November 3 & 4, on Michigan Avenue. I was there today with my friend Alice and we enjoyed the fantastic weather as well as fabulous works of art by local artists as well as from others who traveled here from other states. I really enjoyed the unique teapots by Robert Kastrinos of Orlando Florida. He allowed me to take photos not only of his beautiful work, but he was gracious enough to be in one of the photos. There are always wonderful artists on hand at the Dunedin Art Harvest! This is the best way to kick off the Holiday shopping season. The festival will continue tomorrow, Sunday, November 4th, 2012. Dunedin Florida Wines The Blues on Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Pioneer Park in downtown Dunedin from 5 pm to 11 pm. There will be blues artists from all over the country and wine from the entire world at this great event! You can sample various wines and admission is free. It is indeed that time of year again and the Dunedin Florida ART HARVEST will be taking place this weekend, November 3 & 4, 2012, on the corner of Michigan Avenue & Pinehurst Road - right next to the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. This is the BIG one, that takes place every year, with over 200 artists from all over North America. It is one event you do not want to miss and a fantastic way to kick off the Holiday shopping season. Dunedin Florida is having an auto show and an antique fair this weekend as well as the Day of The Dead Celebration. There is so much going on today that I had to go and see for myself. Naturally, with my iPhone in hand, it was easy to document what was going on. I read that there was also a stone crab festival and craft beer festival someplace but could not find it......bummer. So Alice and I went to Ohana Cafe in Ozona and relaxed there for a couple of hours after walking through the streets of downtown Dunedin Florida. Today is the Day of the Dead Celebration in downtown Dunedin Florida. This Mexican celebration is a day for praying to those family members who have passed on and it is being celebrated with music and festivities in downtown Dunedin today. In most countries, this celebration is on November 1, in conjunction with the Catholic All Soul's Day but it is being celebrated a bit early here. There will be festivities going on until 11 pm this evening, including live music in Pioneer Park, in the center of downtown Dunedin Florida.  Dunedin Florida always has many events going on. It is another example of the multiple events that take place along the Gulf Coast between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs Florida. It is really a fantastic area to call home. 10/20/2012

My wonderful birthday dinner was at Spoto's Steak Joint in Dunedin Florida on Main Street.  This is our favorite place for special events and today we had something new. I had the Chicken Orleans with garlic mashed potatoes, fresh carrots and a lovely tossed salad. The chicken was served with a walnut bourbon sauce. Ronnie had a half chicken, fried and served with garlic mash potatoes, fresh carrots and a beautiful tossed salad with blue cheese. As always, we had to take part of our dinner home since it was more than either of us could possibly eat in one sitting. Art Harvest 2012 - Dunedin Florida - November 3 & 4 The largest Fall art show in the entire Tampa Bay Area will be taking place in Dunedin Florida on the first weekend in November.  Art Harvest is an annual event and brings in over 200 artists as well as thousands of visitors. The Dunedin Showcase Theater has a full line-up for October 2012 taking place at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road in beautiful Dunedin Florida. October 4-6 (at 7:30 pm)     Angel Street This play was titled Gas Light in London when it premiered in 1938. Vincent Price played the part of Jack in the 1940's. Florida's real estate market is indeed bouncing back! According to the Florida Association of Realtors, exisiting home sales were up 10.8% in August 2012 over a year ago and pending contracts are up a whopping 40.2% over last August. Along with this comes the good news that median sales prices are also up: 5.8% over this time last year! In the area of townhomes and condos, August 2012 sales over August 2011 are up 5.7% and the median sold price is up 13.2%! This proves what we have been saying for some time now, that the market is turning around. The bottom of the market is behind us and while increases are expected to be modest, prices are indeed on the rise. Spoto's Steak Joint on Main Street in Dunedin Florida is THE place to go locally for steak and last night that is where Ronnie and I headed. He wanted to have their Chop Steak with garlic mashed potatoes and dark gravy. It looked delicious and I am sure it was! Spoto's serves the best steaks in the area and has for the last 40 years! They also serve caribou chops, ostrich filet, rabbit, wild boar, black bear, kangaroo, yak, rattlesnake, python, crocodile, buffalo, venison, Chilean sea bass, Australian lobster tails, fresh salmon, a large variety of fresh local fish and of course various chicken dishes. My 'other half', Ronnie, went fishing with a couple of buddies yesterday and I drove up just in time to see Mike land one large stingray! He fought this guy for almost an hour before getting it to shore. I promptly jumped out of my car with my iPhone and started clicking away. Ronnie caught one last week that was over three feet from wing tip to wing tip and he did not have a camera along, so I did not want to miss getting a photo of this beautiful stingray. Then Mike released it again.........very carefully since it had one LARGE barb on it! The guys love fishing from shore and on boats. Getting into the water like this is fun and relaxing. On a boat, it can get pretty hot during the summer! They don't always catch something that they can bring home for supper. Fish that are not within... 08/01/2012

Best Western Plus Yacht Harbor Inn in beautiful Dunedin Florida was a TOTAL disappointment for my daughter's wedding night! It was one of my gifts to the newlyweds..........a night on the water in a great room before they left on their Honeymoon. It was supposed to be a wonderful night in a special hotel. I was told that the room had a view of the harbor, as well as a Jacuzzi tub and a king size bed. Cost did not matter, it was my daughter's wedding night. I should have driven over and checked the room out, but I believed what I was told when I made the reservation four months in advance. I did call twice in the interim to make sure it was indeed still reserved. What I did not expect was the level of poor customer service and lies that were told to me! Dunedin Causeway - Fishing, Boating, Sun Bathing, Walking - Florida Style The Dunedin Causeway connects the mainland out to Honeymoon Island State Park and is a local favorite to launch boats and kayaks, do some wade fishing, enjoy the sun with a good book or take a nice long walk along the water.
