We just lunched at the brand-new swanky Italian restaurant, “Pazzo Italian”, in Destin Florida. “Pazzo Italiano” means “crazy Italian”. It wasn’t crazy at all, – but it was posh and elegant!  The first thing that struck me was the sleek decor, suspended lighting and touches like the contemporary metal map of Italy on the wall.Our waiter, Art, was very professional and attentive.  He explained that one of the owners, Alfonso di Bonito, was from Naples, Italy, and emphasized that that was the home of the original pizza (which it is!). The other owner, Levente Tischler, is from Romania, and the two created the restaurant of their dreams (dei loro sogni), according to the website for Pazzo Italiano. My life has changed. I have a new obsession, a new pet, a new OCD. It’s the iRobot Roomba 980.  I’ve named it “Shuttlecraft” (Star Trek fan). How did this come about and what does it mean? A few weeks ago a friend and I were chatting at my house and I apologized that it was a mess with cat hair everywhere. I have three cats. It was neat, but there was cat dander and dust on everything!  My friend immediately grabbed his phone and told me he had a solution for that. He brought up an App and said, “Roomba 980”!  He raved that it cleaned his house, mapped where it has been and he can program it on his phone.  Having two dogs and three kids, he said you can now walk around barefoot with no worries in his house!  Pricey? Here is a new website(with one of my rentals) to find a vacation rentals called Home Escape. For years I always used VRBO to find a vacation rental and when I purchased some vacation rentals I also used them.No more, they got greedy and tried to finance their recent buy out by double charging. I don't mind paying the fee but do not think the potential rental should also be charged(double dipping). Not only that but they also raised my fee quite substantially. I got an email from them yesterday about renewing but told them I am no longer interested.Home Escape was born right after VRBO started this excessive charging and they are growing by leaps and bounds because of fed up owners and renters. You have heard the saying that "all work and no play" is not good! Well in this case it is good.I just returned from Destin,Florida on a work project. My wife asked if I planned to play a little but I told her there will no time to play. We drove down all day on Monday and drove home all day Thursday(yesterday). Upon our arrival there Monday about 5pm we immediately drove to home depot and Lowes to find the right porcelain tile to install in the 2 remaining bedrooms we did not tile in the same condo last December.After our purchase we proceeded pulling up carpet and tack strip and lots of nails driven into the concrete floors. Are you looking for a special rate for October in a Destin beachfront condo rental? I just returned from Destin and the weather was gorgeous and fishing great. I did a previous post about a 493 lb blue marlin being caught just last Saturday and brought in to the Destin fishing rodeo weigh in.Did you know the weather and water are still warm in Destin and October is probable the best time to go to the coast and especially to Destin since the fishing rodeo goes the entire month. I paid $53 and got on a party boat for a 6 hour trip. My picture here includes a trigger fish I caught on the trip. Also, the top picture is 2 out of the 4 dolphin escorts back to the dock.
