Interested in buying Delray Beach real estate property in a 55+ community? Now may be the perfect time for you to do it. Recently, there has been a surge of properties listed for sale in age restricted communities. Some of this newly available inventory may be coming from Canadian snowbirds who are trying to counterbalance their currency exchange rate with the U.S. dollar.  Since many retired Canadians spend their winters in Florida, the drop in value of their country’s dollar is ending up costing them more than they may have bargained for a few years ago. 5 Real Estate Trends That Will Effect 2016 According to Realtor.com, 2016 is on track to be a great year in real estate. With economic growth moving, employment will continue to increase, meaning that people will have more money coming in and they’ll be able to buy their first home or upgrade to a new one. Here’s a closer look at the trends that will have the greatest impact on the housing market in 2016. 1. The market will return to "normal". This is not a bad thing, it's actually a stabilization of home prices that had been booming and dropping for the past 15 years.  The Quick Federal Reserve Update...12/16/15 The Federal Reserve voted unanimously on Wednesday to raise interest rates by a quarter point, marking the first increase in more than nine years.  The bank raised its fed funds rate to a range of 0.25% to 0.5%, ending an unprecedented seven-year run of near-zero interest rates. The vote was 10-0.  The board of directors also raised the discount rate to 1% from 0.75%. Looking ahead, the Fed said it will "carefully'monitor" actual inflation in light of 'current shortfall."  And given current economic conditions, the bank said interest rates are only likely to increase in a "gradual" manner, ending up at a long-run target of 3.5%. That was unchanged from its September forecast.Source: The Wall Street Journal

INFO THATS HAPPENING THIS WEEK 11/30 - 12/6 & Beyond  Some reporters tried to make October's 3.4% drop in Existing Home Sales into evidence that the housing recovery has firmly changed direction. Perhaps it is they who were uninformed.  October may have been down, but the 5.36 million unit annual rate puts Existing Homes Sales up 3.9% over a year ago.  Housing data can be volatile from month to month and many observers expect sales growth to return next month. A supply shortage was part of the problem, as total inventory was down 2.3% at the end of October.  Is it time to make a move?  But the median price was up 5.8% over a year ago, the 44th straight month of price gains, which should draw more sellers into the market. We did get nice headline numbers on the new homes front. New singl...
