Dogs and Allergies in South Florida Dogs are much like people when it comes to allergies living in south Florida.  They get allergies too!  South Florida is a hotbed for allergies, although I acquired mine in New York.  So there goes that theory, if you ask me! Nevertheless, some dogs can and do get allergies.  If you are new to Boca Raton, watch out for Allergies in Dogs.   I've had dogs with food allergies as well as seasonal allergies.   We have lots of flowering plants and melaluca here and, while beautiful to look at, your furry friend could be allergic.   I try to take precautions.  Each time I take my dogs out, their paws are wiped when they come in.   I try to keep them away from freshly mowed grass, anything freshly sprayed for weeds or whatever, or lots of leaves on the ground...

Help Hurricane Victims With Your Own Hurricane Supplies This is an idea that someone in our community is doing and I wanted to pass it on.  If you have seen the videos of the flooding in Houston thanks to Harvey or the devastation that Irma inflicted on the Florida Keys, west coast, and Jacksonville areas, you know that there are many who need urgent assistance.  Having just gone through Irma myself, I know that I have a stockpile of supplies that are sitting waiting for the next (hope not) hurricane to hit.  What about taking those supplies and donating them to agencies who are collecting them for hurricane relief? If you can, use your office for a drop off point.
