The National Association of REALTORS®’ 2023 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers showed that people of all ages have been moving shorter distances. In 2023, sellers moved a median distance of 20 miles to a new home, down from 50 miles the year prior, according to NAR’s survey. Significantly fewer moves in 2023 involved crossing state lines than in 2022. Saving it for good…Do you find yourself saving things for good?  I know I have.  Many of us are guilty of saving our fine china, cloth napkins, fancy tablecloths, crystal stemware, best towels and linens for either special occasions or for when company comes.   Many times we save these items and never end up actually using them.  What about that special jar of homemade jam that you didn't want to open and then it expires without even opening up the jar.  Or that new outfit that you bought for a special occasion and never ended up wearing it.  It still sits in the closet with the tags on.  Or, that beautiful sweater or scarf that you received as a gift that was just too pretty or expensive to wear.  They sit in the drawer with the tags still attached.  Never enjoyed. We create beautiful ... 01/11/2024

We recently had the pleasure of visiting The Biltmore Mansion which was beautifully decorated with over 69 Christmas trees, garland, poinsettias in many colors and tons of lights and decorations  We booked the evening tour which was fabulous. Candles flickering throughout the mansion as we toured each room. What a spectacular sight and experience for us.  As we toured the mansion I was thinking about my own decorating and how that has changed over the years, and from year to year.  Some years I’m more ambitious but the task of decorating a mansion like The Biltmore would be an exciting experience.This year I find myself pairing down and taking a more simplified approach. Nevertheless the Christmas spirit is there and I’m focusing more on the true meaning of the holiday season.  12/23/2023

My Daughter Megan made this beautiful wreath for our Thanksgiving Dinner! She modified the recipe by adding some dried figs and fresh blackberries. How have your shopping habits changed over the years? This year the majority of my shopping has been done on line and mailed directly.  I miss the old days. I must admit…I was watching a video of what it was like shopping back in the 90’s during the holiday season. The malls were packed with filled with shoppers of all ages carrying lots of shopping bags.  The malls were beautifully decorated and of course Santa was there. I visited our local Mall the other day and found shoppers but no big Christmas displays and decorations.  I try to support our local malls as much as possible, which is necessary for our local economy.  12/15/2023

 Truck Meet Event this year was set for the Labor Day weekend. Coronavirus has made so many changes to our way of living. I Twould be impossible to even imagine all these changes even a year ago…Social distancing, … This year 4-day event is the 4th in Daytona’s history. It is, probably, the most controversial event. Actually, probably not this time. Maybe it is because we only have about 35K guests and only 1,300 truck registered for the event. I remember the 1st and 2nd event, and they were way more intimidating. It was a demonstration of size and power. Driving along them was uncomfortable. I know that Daytonians were petitioning the city to not let this event become an annual event. Yet, I did…This year we only have about 35K people and 1,300 trucks.
