Another wonderful sunset was what I observed over Crystal Beach Florida last night.  This is such a lovely time of year, with the lower temperatures and low humidity. I love the fact that we can leave the air conditioning off and all of the windows and sliders open. It is my favorite time of year. We listen to the chattering of the squirrels and chirping of the birds. That is the wonderful part of living in a house surrounded by live oak trees full of little creatures. My wonderful Ronnie loves taking clients fishing and they love going out with him on the boat! My German clients are in town once again and yesterday Frankie caught his first red fish! Ronnie has taken Frankie and his brother, Klaus-Dieter, out on the boat before but yesterday was special because yesterday was the day that Frankie actually caught his first red fish. I did not go out with them and Klaus-Dieter is back in Berlin but Frankie's partner, Lore, is here so she took some of the photos since she was out with them on the boat. Tonight they are coming over for a fresh fish dinner prepared by my guy! He loves golfing, fishing and cooking! It doesn't get much better than that! 11/15/2012

Red fish are back and the fishing is good off Crystal Beach Florida. It was pretty windy and cold for a few days and I am pretty sure that even the red fish headed to deeper water for a while but they are back and although he had to wear long pants and left in a jacket, Ronnie was out with his buddy Bob once again today. He caught this red fish and guess what we are having tomorrow....... This one is going to be smoked on apple wood and made into a nice fish spread. That is what he did with the grouper he prepared a couple of days ago. Nothing like fresh fish spread! 11/02/2012

Sailboats & sunshine to kick off November here in Crystal Beach Florida is exactly what I got to see this morning during our early morning walk. It is really beautiful this time of year as it gets a little cooler and the humidity drops significantly down here in the Crystal Beach area. I love our little corner of Paradise. The sunshine and blue skies are indeed back here in Crystal Beach Florida but that wind continues and is brutal!  Our morning walk was along the bayou and that was fine but when we got out to the seashore along the Gulf of Mexico, I stayed there for about 5 minutes and got away from the winds quickly! It is COLD! Our temperatures this morning were in the mid-50's and the wind gusts are still 40 mph with steady winds at 30 mph along the shore. That is simply too cold!!! I watch the news and worry about our friends and family in the Northeast. May they recover quickly. Prayers and thoughts are with them! 10/30/2012

Amazingly, Hurricane Sandy is still providing cloud coverage down here in the Crystal Beach Florida area. This had proven to be an amazing storm! Even the pelicans are flying low. The hurricane is off of New Jersey and we are still experiencing cloud coverage down here today. Thankfully, that is mixed with blue skies but we are all praying for those up in the Northeast that area experiencing the floods and rain. Wishing safe days and nights to my fellow ActiveRainers! Sunset in Crystal Beach Florida last night - it was indeed a stunningly beautiful October sunset. I do not know if the weather patterns played a role but there was a lot of pink in the sky last night as the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Sandy is over in the Atlantic, heading north. Her clouds are extending across the state and I had to wonder if some of the beautiful colors we were seeing came from how the storm was affecting the atmosphere. Crystal Beach Florida always has magnificent sunsets. Just one more reason to consider relocating to our shores. 10/28/2012

Hurricane Sandy is bringing a lot of wind to Crystal Beach Florida this morning and our high temperature is only going to be 73! That means break out the slacks and long sleeve shirts for this kid. I have homes to show today and I want to be warm enough. My morning walk along the seashore was REALLY windy, with gusts up to 35 mph but as soon as I got a block away, it was much calmer again. Be safe all of you up in the Northeast and don't ignore the warnings! I live in hurricane country and know that you should take the warnings seriously. Always better safe than sorry! 10/28/2012

Tomorrow, October 28, 2012 Crystal Beach Florida will be celebrating Picnic In The Park With The Pickers! Crystal Beach Community Association will be providing water, soda and sweets to celebrate the Halloween Holiday. There will be guitar music and with the cool breezes provided thanks to Hurricane Sandy over in the Atlantic, it should be a perfect day! Blue skies and temperatures in the mid-80's! So bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join the rest of the community for a great Picnic In The Park here in beautiful Crystal Beach Florida! 10/26/2012

Local artists will be on hand in Live Oak Park on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico from 10 am to 4 pm displaying their masterpieces. What a great way to kick off the Holiday shopping season! Crystal Beach Florida Community Church's Big Fall Sale is taking place today, October 27th 2012 at the Community Church across from Live Oak Park. This Fall Sale will include plants, Christmas items, baked goods, White Elephant treasures and of course, coffee and donuts will be on sale this morning. Pulled pork sandwiches with chips and slaw will be available from 11 am to 1 pm for those coming during lunchtime. The entire event begins at 9 am this morning and will last until 4 pm. Trunk or Treat will be taking place in Crystal Beach Florida at Live Oak Park on October 31, 2012 from 6 - 8 pm. It is the communities way of providing a safe alternative to going door to door. Many residents have asked for this since there are not that many children that actually go door to door anymore. Parents worry and it is understandable, so the Crystal Beach Community Association is holding Trunk or Treat. Those who want to participate are decorating their cars and will be handing out treats to the children between 6 and 8 in the evening on Halloween. A safe alternative for the little ones, right along the seashore here in beautiful Crystal Beach Florida! Be safe on Halloween, everyone! 10/26/2012

It is another fantastic Friday here in Crystal Beach Florida. Blue skies, sunshine and the humidity and temperature are both perfect for the end of October. While the east coast of Florida is experiencing rain from Hurricane Sandy, we are having really fabulous weather. It was a picture-book kind of day!  After running a market analysis for two different clients, I had lunch with a friend and did a bit of shopping. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend! Sunshine, blue skies and a half day fishing off Crystal Beach Florida, in St Joseph's Sound - that was how I spent the first half of my day! We put in a little before 9 am and headed out into St Joseph's Sound, just north of Honeymoon Island. It was cold on the water that early, the temperature was only 70 degrees when we set out. I had on a sweatshirt to keep warm which was removed once the temperature reached the high 70's. (That red marker on the map shows where Crystal Beach Florida is located) Osprey were everywhere, fishing for their breakfast. So were seagulls and pelicans. There were dozens of ibis on the shore of Honeymoon Island, walking through the shallow water catching their meal as well. Bob caught an African Pompano but it was just a tiny little baby. A beautiful day in Crystal Beach Florida is exactly what it was! My day began with a nice walk from Crystal Beach down to Ozona........a little under three miles. Then I had a wonderful breakfast at Ohana Cafe before returning home to work in the veggie garden for a few hours. Stone Crab Season is indeed here in Crystal Beach Florida! Stone crab season begins on my birthday each year (October 15th) and lasts for seven months. Naturally, Ronnie was out getting his share of those delicious stone crab claws and when I came home I found out that he had taken plenty of photos before preparing them for dinner. All I saw was these photos and the wonderful dinner awaiting me. He is planning on another day out collecting stone crab claws again tomorrow. They seem to be everywhere this year. Naturally, the claws have to be measured and only claws that are large enough can be taken. That means not only getting those crabs out of the rocks but also measuring the claws before taking them. Not something I would want to be part of but Ronnie enjoys stone crab season! 10/19/2012

Palm Harbor Florida is actually split into three different zip codes and the 34683 zip code is the one that begins on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.
