Yes, the butterflies are everywhere, reminding us that Spring has already come down here in the Sunshine State. No matter where you turn, there are beautiful butterflies fluttering their wings and visiting the numerous flowers. This is just one more thing that I love about living down here on Florida's Suncoast. Our 'winter' normally consists of a hand full of days that the nights may go down into the 30's but it doesn't normally even freeze.  As I get older, I really appreciate the warmer temperatures and so do my joints!!! 02/11/2013

Crystal Beach Florida is wonderful at all times of year and this Saturday in February is no example since it is a typically sunny Saturday with temperatures in the high 70's today! Yes, yesterday was indeed just another beautiful sunset over Crystal Beach Florida.  It had been a picture perfect day, with temperatures in the low 70's and beautiful blue skies. The whole family just hanging out....or at least that is what it looks like to me! I saw this family of IBIS up in a tree while taking an early morning walk a few days ago and could not resist this photo opportunity! There is nothing that I enjoy more than being out in the open air, enjoying the sunshine and blue skies. This is really a wonderful time of year down here in Florida and this family of IBIS seems to be enjoying their view over the Gulf of Mexico from this location! Crystal Beach Florida is right on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and in my opinion, a fantastic place to live!  The entire community is so small that nobody lives more than five blocks from the water! That means taking a walk to the shore to watch the sunset or to watch the birds feeding first thing in the morning is something that is extremely easy to do.  Crystal Beach Florida is also a golf cart community, meaning you can travel through our streets on a golf cart rather than using a car IF you own a valid driver's license. Crystal Beach Florida's Holiday Golf Cart Parade will be taking place on Sunday, December 16, 2012 beginning at 7 pm at Emily's Restaurant (corner of Alternate 19 and Crystal Beach Avenue). It is a beautiful but chilly morning here in lovely Crystal Beach Florida today. The high is supposed to be 70 degrees today but it won't be there until around 2 pm. Today is my granddaughter's official kid's birthday party as well and it will be in a local park. Guess it is going to be sweater weather all day today! For those of you up north, this is NOT a typical end of November day, it is way too cold!!!!! We are spoiled by our weather and enjoy being spoiled. Come on sunshine, warm the day up!!!! Publix Bakery in Crystal Beach Plaza on the corner of Alternate 19 & Aldermann Road rocks! They did a beautiful job on Aubrey's birthday cake! My granddaughter turned 6 years old today and I am totally thrilled with the job Publix bakery did on her mermaid themed birthday cake! They even put jelly fish and other sea creatures around the cake on the sides. Beside looking wonderful, this chocolate cake was a delight to eat! Everyone was pleased! Florida Home & Condo Sales are indeed up, up, up and this November 2012 update breaks it down. October 2012 condo and townhome sales are up 16.4% above October 2011 and the statewide median price for those townhomes and condos is up 20.2% over a year ago according to both the National Association of Realtors and the Florida Association of Realtors. Existing home sales rose in October 2012 25.3% over the previous year. The statewide median sale price for those existing home sales rose 9% in the same time period. We have been saying that the market was turning and now we are saying that the market has turned. The days of multiple offers and bidding wars is back. My Cranberry Hibiscus plant is beautiful AND edible as well!  I have the most beautiful bush growing in my yard that serves many purposes. It is a joy to look at and both the leaves as well as the lovely flower can be added to salads! The Cranberry Hibiscus bush is originally from Africa but is grown all over South Florida. Full of vitamin C, this yummy plant also has both vitamin B2 and B3. It is amazing, how many plants grow around us that can be used as food. We need to take time to do a little research and enjoy what Mother Nature provides. 11/17/2012
