Coral Gables restaurants offer something for every palate and now is a great time of year to go out and explore new restaurants, especially if you are a foodie at heart. One of my favorites is Eating House at 804 Ponce De Leon Blvd. This small restaurant has been the talk-of-the-town since its opening early last year and for good reason. Food Network’s Chopped grand prize winner Giorgio Rapicavoli, a Miami native, and his partner opened this pop-up restaurant which is now a permanent resident. Many of the foods served at this local favorite are meant to be shared and come one by one. Every dish seems to be their specialty. Some of the tastes that are off the charts include pasta recipes like their superb carbonara, chicken and waffles (an all-time favorite) and a definite must-try is th...

Printable Jack-O-Lantern Halloween Stencils It's Halloween again! It doesn't feel all that long ago that we celebrated Halloween but I'm glad it's back, even if the year did go by faster than I anticipated (and I do find myself a little older). Personally, I love Halloween. A lot. The costumes, horror movie marathons and, of course, Jack-O-Lanterns make for a very spooky atmosphere every year. Speaking of Jack-O-Lanterns, I've always wanted to try to make one but never got around it. I don't know if this year will be the year I try but, in the meantime, I'll observe others handy work. Whether you do it free hand or not, making Jack-O-Lanterns seems like a time consuming but rewarding endeavor.  If free hand isn't your thing though, there are always printable Jack-O-Lantern Halloween Ste...

Baby Boomers...Living Longer, Not Necessarily Healthier Baby boomers have something else to worry about: their health. On top of depleting government resources, low cash flow, and increasing longevity, baby boomers are now are now more likely to suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes than the preceding generation, according an article published by ABC NEWS, based on a study done by JAMA Internal Medicine. The study was in accordance to statistics provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which found that Americans spend, roughly, $147 billion on obesity and $177 billion on diabetes. If this is any indication of what's to come, baby boomers are in for a rough retirement. In truth, baby boomers would live in the U.S. have higher chronic disea...

I scheduled this morning to help the owner clean up for his showing. I had 20 Realtors lined up for 5pm today to see the place and everyone with contract and escrow. I roll up to the place (hour ago ) and a guy greats me with a contract in hand and an escrow letter from his lawyer (full asking price) Full price, as is, no contingencies .... owner looked at me and said "is it really this simple" I said to the owner, no, it's the efforts of hard core Keller Williams Marketing at it's best" but I told my owner, we still have the 5pm unless you want me to cancel that. He said "bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush" everything is now signed and have to cancel all the 5pm appointments Life is getting interesting.

Have you ever been in a restaurant and your waiter or waitress was serving you and they had nasty  finger nails or they smelled like they have not had a shower or bath? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Nasty.  How come they are not clean?  Are they lazy or just do not care? When I see this I just excuse myself and do not eat there.  I tell them this before any food is  ordered of course. Any thoughts on this folks? Any one have any similar experience and what have you done?

Coral Gables real estate is rebounding with at least seven new luxury apartment and office buildings being developed around the downtown core.  Many projects proposed during the housing boom in the last decade were put on hold when the economy slowed and the fact that construction is beginning in Coral Gables is a sign that a rebound has begun. Developers and lenders have invested a quarter-billion dollars in financing toward these projects that are either under construction or scheduled to break ground soon.  Over the next three years, more than two million square feet of new space will occupy locations around Ponce De Leon Boulevard.  These new projects could bring up to 1,000 new residential units and dozens of new businesses and restaurants to the area. The affluent population proxi...

This is a story about a Reverse Mortgage in Coral Gables, Miami, Florida… Many believe that the Reverse Mortgage is for the poor, desperate, or those on the verge of foreclosure.  My grandfather feels the same way, but after years of explanation and my Aunt Uncle, and I offering our support my grandparents used the Reverse Mortgage for themselves.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths and misunderstandings about the program.  This blog is not about the program and how it works; rather it’s about different clients of mine who have closed using the program and why they did it.   I March of 2010 a prospective client, whose home is in Coral Gables, contacted me via the internet.  He didn’t give me a phone number to call, instead he left his address and fax number.  Many people do things ...
