The Venetian Pool has been around since the 1920's in the middle of Coral Gables. There is an interesting history behind this one which actually came about by accident. The original developer of the Gables was quarrying coral rock (hence the name Coral gables) to use in building homes. When the quarry started to fill with water he decided to make it into an attraction and built the Tuscan styled buildings and pergolas which is the style in most of the original homes.This cool and beautiful spot is open to the public 365 days a year.
