One of my closest girlfriends had to go to Frankie's Wings & Things!  You see Stephanie is CRAZY about chicken wings.  If she could eat them every day and get away with it I think she would!  So, when she was recently visiting from Denver, I took her to Frankie's Wings & Things in Melbourne. Frankie's Wings & Things takes chicken wings to an insane level!  You see, usually when you go out for wings you get the standard 4 or 5 levels of hotness, but Frankie's Wings & Things really dials it up a couple of notches.  For those of you out there that like wings in varying degrees of discomfort and pain, you need to make a trip to Frankie's Wings & Things. On top of 7 different sauce flavor types:                                                                         TeriyakiTwisted Teriyaki...

Cocoa Beach Florida Is A Special Place               Cocoa Beach Florida is a special place for so many reasons.  It's a barrier island on central Florida's east coast between the Atlantic Ocean and Banana River Lagoon.  For a place that's six miles long and less than a mile wide in spots, it packs in a lot of fun!       The first reason why Cocoa Beach Florida is a special place, is because of it's geography.  It's one of those spots where you can walk along two different types of beaches.  On one side you can kayak along the Banana River Islands, and on the other you can surf cast into the ocean.        It's well known to surfers that Cocoa Beach Florida is a special place, because it is often referred to as the surfing capital of the east coast.  Ron Jon Surf Shop has an am...

This week I made two trips into Orlando to Seaworld to bring washback turtles to Seaworld.  On both occasions I  drove up the coast to Cocoa Beach to pick up little Loggerhead washbacks.  Every time that I drive through Cocoa Beach, I giggle when I see one particular street. You see, when I was a little girl, I absolutely loved the 60's sitcom I Dream of Jeannie.  As some of you may remember, Jeannie (played by Barbara Eden) was a 2000 year old genie that lived in a beautiful bottle that was found by the fictional Major Nelson (played by Larry Hagman LONG before he played JR Ewing) who was an astronaut at...Cape Canaveral!Well, that sitcom made Cocoa Beach famous, and Cocoa Beach never forgot!  There is actually a street in Cocoa Beach named I Dream of Jeannie Lane.                     ...

Real Estate is local...your Realtor® should be local, too! One thing we can all agree on is that real estate is local and your Realtor® should be local, too. Brevard County, Florida is big! It is 72 miles long and includes the beaches and mainland so the market in one part of the county will be totally different from the market in another part of the county. The Florida market is unique but it is not uncommon to see agents from other states responding to consumer questions online about the Brevard County, Florida market. Locally, agents who live and work on the mainland frequently list properties on the beaches and vice versa. Each of those markets is a unique area and has its own particular personality and characteristics so it would seem logical to specialize in the area that you work...

One of the things that I am most passionate about here on the Space Coast is the sea turtles.  I don't what type of turtle it is, I love them all.  But, they are all in trouble not only here on the Space Coast, but around the world.  So, whenever someone steps forward to help these magnificent reptiles, I am absolutely thrilled.  Today, a surfer came to the rescue of a young loggerhead sea turtle that was tangled in fishing lines just south of the Cocoa Beach Pier this afternoon.  The turtle's flippers were so entangle in fishing line that it could be seen gasping for air from the surface of the ocean as it struggled to free itself from the mono-filament line. Seeing the marine reptile in distress, a nearby surfer paddled over to help the sea turtle.  Doing this, he risked a possible bit...

The Virtual Traveler - Here is a shout out to John Mayer's Beach Blog. John's blog about the Cocoa Beach Pier and Community will provide the inspiration to take a trip to the "I Dream Of Jeannie Beach". You can imagine sitting at the bar listening to the music, sipping margaritas and snacking on shrimp fresh off the boat!  We fell in love with Cocoa Beach because it has that quaint feel of an earlier simpler time - local mom & pop shops, pristine beaches & surf boards. There are plenty of vacation rentals available, we found ours on VRBO, and were thrilled to easily find a lovely condo on the beach. From our home base, we visited Cape Canaveral, many beaches and of course had to try paddle boarding and surfing.          White sugary sand on Cocoa Beach beckons you to take long walks on ...

Every year the NKF ( National Kidney Foundation) labor day surfing festival is held at the Cocoa Beach Pier. A friend of mine saw Kelly Slater while he was visiting Friends and family. CJ used to caddiy for him when he visited in between tournaments. He's a 7 time world champion raised right here in Cocoa Beach.  There wasn't a lot of surfing going on when we were there but the day was warm and perfect. Is there anything better than a day at the beach soaking up the sun with a beautiful woman by your side? The Pier had a bikini contest but we didn't stick around for it. Fahitas and a cold beer sounded better :-)  As my Grandson Thomas used to say when he was little, "Look Grampa, "Makini Girls"! He'll grow up just fine!    Cycling along Cocoa Beach.    Everyone stays cool in the water :...

It was a Great Afternoon at the Cocoa Beach Pier. It cleared up after some tropical rain and the sun came out once again. Pictured below is the Pat Michaels Trio. I know the guys and they played great! Mike (on the right) plays a mean acoustic lead guitar. There is so much talent here, it boogles the mind. We all need to support our local musicians!  My friend Donna. We had a great time listening to the band with a few Bacardis and Coronas. The shrimp was excellent too.  The Umbrella Crowd.    Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on the Space Coast.
