  This weekend was the Celebrate Wallingford 2013, and my son Matthew and I had a booth at the event right next to ActiveRain Members, and Realtor I do business with Pat & Wayne Harriman. This is the first year I have been to this event, but I will be making it an annual event. In my opinion this event was well worth the hours Matthew and I spent manning our booth this weekend.  We not only made connections with Realtors we believe we will be doing future business with, but also had several posible future Borrowers stop by inquiring about refinancing and being pre-approved to purchase a home.  Matthew and I will be following up on everyone who request more information from us this week. Wallingford Ready to Shine at 27th Annual Celebrate Wallingford Fest The 27th Annual Celebrate Wallingford Festival is ready to kick off this weekend, October 5th and 6th. Prepare yourself for two fantastic days of activities, displays, food tasting, crafting, contests, and entertainment, all set in the beautiful uptown area of Wallingford Center. Habitat for Humanity Opens ReStore in Wallingford CT If you live in or are a frequent visitor to the south end of Wallingford, you’ve probably noticed that the old Salvation Army building by Walgreen’s has a new tenant. One of our favorite charitable organizations, Habitat For Humanity, has recently opened a new ReStore in the location, the sixth such store in Connecticut. When they first opened they had limited hours of operation, but they are now open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10AM to 4PM. They are planning a Grand Opening for sometime in September and are also contemplating expanding their hours at that time to accommodate weekend and evening shoppers and closing on one day a week.
