How's the real estate market in Vernon, CT?  I am often asked that question, so I compiled some results.  Let's take a look at what has sold in Vernon, CT in December 2009 compared with what has sold in Vernon, CT in December 2008.  What we will see is that the activity was robust compared to the prior year, and just as important, the current market presents a great opportunity for first-time homebuyers as well as repeat buyers. In December 2009, there were 18 closed sales with a median price of $200,500.  In December 2008, there were 13 closed sales with a median price of $200,000.  Currently on the market are 93 homes, with 64 priced at under $250,000.  With a few months left for buyers to take advantage of the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit or the $6,500 repeat buyer tax cre...

  The first-time homebuyer credit had quite an impact on closed sales in Vernon during October and November 2009.  Compared with the same months in the prior year, November 2009 showed significant increases over November 2008, while October 2009 actually had fewer closed sales that the same month the prior year. Interestingly, the median price in October 2009 was $194,900 compared to $193,000 in October 2008, so not much change there.  But in November 2009, the median price was $200,000 compared to $210,000 in November 2008.  REIN'S DELI 435 Hartford TpkVernon, CT 06066(860) 875-1344 For a while I've been craving a *good* New York Style deli sandwich.  However, to travel 2 hours to get this meal seemed a little extravagent.  A friend of mine knowing this took me to Rein's Deli (founded in 1972) in Vernon CT.  I was blown away.  Walking through the door you instantly felt that you were transported to the Big Apple.  There is a life size Statue of Liberty in the middle of the diningroom.  The smells and the display cases were if I was standing in SOHO, not Vernon CT. Went to Garden Barn in vernon ct today and bought some fall mums for my clients to stage the home. Great prices, beautiful flowers and alot of other things to decorate with.  I have been going to Garden Barn for many years and this year the flowers seem to be the best!

Yesterday, on my errand list, was a note to purchase a few rubber balls for Jack, our black lab.  He has other toys, but, really loves those tennis balls.  He has become a master at taking them apart, within minutes.  So, I was determined to find him a solid rubber one.  He has a Kong, which is fun for him to play with, but, still not a ball.
