Over the past three years, the Shelton single family real estate market has been improving in number of sales and in prices.  From 2012 to 2013, there was a 5 percent increase in the median sale price ($313,000 vs. $296,500) and a 10% increase in the number of sales (315 vs. 285). The number of Days on Market has decreased from 2012, which is good news for home sellers: However, the number of homes available for sale has also decreased, frustrating home buyers.  The lack of inventory may also impact the number of sales. - See more at: http://www.fairfieldcountyshoreline.com/blog?post=Shelton-Year-End-Market-Report-2013&xid=040600-02#sthash.uiF192VW.dpuf

It's a beauty!  The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is, to me, one of the best I've seen in recent years.  Not that I am biased, but it IS from Shelton CT.  The tree stands proud and tall for the millions of visitors who visit Rock Center to take a look and more likely to take the requisite picture of the tree alone ... then with friends/family with the tree in the background. Read the story behind the Shelton CT Rockfeller Center tree.   Overlooking the ice skating rink the tree is sure to bring out the festive spirit in all who are lucky enough to see it in person.   If you can, don't miss this tree and all the activity just below. Even though you will fight crowds, it is a joyful atmosphere that is palpable and very easy to embrace.

Shelton CT Ranch Style Condos For Sale   In the last few years there has been an uptick in requests for ranch style condos in Shelton CT.  Most of the requests are coming from people who are downsizing and no longer want stairs in their homes and basically all rooms on one level.   Shelton has over 30 condo complexes, some with just a few units like Long Hill Commons with 3 units up to the largest at Aspetuck Village, which has 455 units.    When condos became popular back in the 1970s and early 1980s, multiple complexes in Shelton went up year after year.  The style that was ‘en vogue’ and highly desirable back then was the townhouse style.   The unit is yours from bottom to top with a separate entry.  Usually, the lower level has a living room, kitchen, dining area and half bath, an...

Veterans Day will be observed on Monday, November 11, around the country.  In the past, this was usually a day off for schools; but in recent years, schools have been in session and most provide a meaningful program honoring veterans.  Better for the kids to attend a program honoring those who served our country than to participate in shopping mall veterans day sales frenzies. Shelton Intermediate School in Shelton CT  will be holding a Veterans Day program honoring veterans related to students.  The day will begin with a breakfast, followed by a program for students and guests in the auditorium. The program will include students' works of poetry, readings and artwork. At 1 p.m. local veterans will hold a roundtable discussion for students.   Veterans Day, always observed on November...
