Chief Chicken Warrups was a Native American with a checkered past.   Meet Chief Chicken Warrups.  This Mohawk Indian, originally from Pennsylvania, was captured by another tribe (the Ramapos) who eventually settled in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield/Westport, CT. Chief Chicken Warrups married the Ramapos chief's daughter. He later got into some trouble when he murdered another Native American.   He fled, but not very far. He ended up a few miles north in what is now known as Redding, CT. Sellers Mistakes - Easy To Lose a Sale There are many pitfalls to selling a house.   Many many of these things are repeated everywhere you go....   clean up, declutter, put away pictures, price it right, etc.    When we as agents go to a home to speak with the home owners about listing their house for sale, how many of us do the due diligence of running to the Town Hall to check on the permit situation?   Have the sellers taken out a permit to put on a deck, and then forgotten to close it when they changed their minds?    Did the furnace company remember to close out the permit they took out to replace the furnace?    Did you check to make sure that all of the owners before these sellers had their permits closed out? Sellers Beware - Check Your Permits in Redding, CT!  A beautiful colonial home that I recently listed in Redding, CT had two offers within the first 3 days!   Both were close to list price, -- One was for cash, and the other was for a 20% down conventional mortgage.  My sellers were ecstatic, since they had had the home listed with other realtors for the past several years with no success.    I raised the price by $100, showed them that they needed to clean out and clean up, and viola!   Offers!!  Luck?  Skill?   We'll never really know, but it's happening on my watch!
