A Nor'Easter'  visits the North East and dumps a Bunch of SnowIt has been a bit mild for our Prospect CT winter and for those of us that look to something other than a rodent for indications of an early spring. We took a vacation to the island of Cypress in 1995.  It is an island rich in history with evidence of Roman occupations, and even earlier civilizations in addition to evidence of the island once being completely underwater.At a point mid island on the Greek side, there is a site where one can find fossils of remnants of sea life all fused together by time and pressure. One must dig carefully as the shells can break very easily and there is a lot of dirt packed around them as well.This  is just the initial part of the process.  The shells take great time to slowly take the sand out of the crevices. Each shell needs to soak carefully to loosen the sand and with a tooth brush and tooth picks, poked and rubbed to expose the shell beneath. Our grandson, Raphael is coming up on a birthday and as an early present we spent the night at a local Marriott so that he could take a swim.
