Friday Flags in Prospect CT June 2023+While sitting at the computer reading the blogs this morning, I realized that I didn't have a flag to post for Friday. Not a problem, as I only had to look out the window to see a possibility.To the left of the front stoop is the UConn banner. I am a 1971 graduate and proud of the school and the teams. It is standing atop the red dwarf maple that adorns the right side of the stoop.On the opposite side of the front porch is our country's flag. It is always out there, no disrespect intended.I have flown the flag ever since I moved into my first home in 1978, as a matter of pride in my country and for the service I gave it.I will keep a sharper eye this week to find a business that shares the sentiments.There is always the main streets through Prospect...

As we reached the end of 2009 in Prospect, Ct the market was showing a modest increase from the previous year in terms of total residential units sold. As Prospect, Ct is a small town to begin with the bulk of the inventory of available housing would be in residential sales. The only condominiums complexes in town are 55+ communities. In 2009, 78 properties were sold with a range in value from $190,000 to $589,000 with a median sales price of $257,000. The Prospect Fire Department will be putting on a H1N1 Flu clinic at the Prospect Fire house.  This is sponsored by Chesprocot. Region 16 will be holding their annual Preschool screening/lottery for the 2010/2011 school year for Prospect / Beacon Falls children turning 4 by December 31st, 2010.  The screening process is required in order to be eligible for the lottery.  Screenings are held by appointment on February 26th, 2010.  Makeup dates will not be available.  to setup an appointment call 203-758-6671 between Feb 1st and February 12th, 2010.  Ask for Susan or Gina between 8:30 and 3:30.

  Yesterday, 12/16/09 was the grand re-lo-Christmas Extravaganzaput out by the people at the Prospect Pages here in Prospect, Ct  Our local paper does publish all the news anybody here in Prospect would want to read and of course it's all 'FIT TO PRINT'.   For the 13 years that I've been a resident of this town, I've seen them through at least 4 moves. Each one has seen the paper grow even more. This Saturday on the Green (25 Center Street, Prospect) in Prospect is the Bazaar at the Prospect Congregational Church.  This Saturday October 21st from 10am to 3pm.   The annual bazaar has many hand made crafts and baked goods.  Admission is free and it is always a great event.  Be sure to get out and support all the locals!   They will also be serving lunch from 11 until 1:30. Be sure to stop up and get a jump start on your holiday shopping season.

Prospect, CT - Pumpkin Festival, October 24, 2009     Driving on my way to school on last Saturday, I noticed rows upon rows of pumpkins lined outside of Prospect   Town Hall . On my way back home, I was able to stop by and see what it was all about.   Every year, the students in the Prospect elementary schools, from pre-K up to 6 th grade let their imaginations come to life in their decorations of pumpkins, which are then put on display for everyone passing by to see in the Prospect, CT Pumpkin Festival .   It was truly amazing to see what these youngsters came up with. From 5 to 9 pm today, with a rain date of Sunday, the contestants will be lined up on the stands, waiting impatiently as the judges make their way reviewing, judging, and just enjoying the contest. Today is the 6th Annual Pumpkin Festival.        The day the kids get to put their pumpkins on display for all to see their handywork!
