I could not speak to the regulations or procedures that may have been in place then. There is no question that there was a time when real estate agents had a bad reputation and were looked at much the same way as the peddlers of the early 19th century would have been as well. April 2, 2016 was International Pillow Fight Day, and I found out too late.  I received an email early in the day but as I had clients I didn't really get a chance to read it until later in the evening. It is a large happening with organized fights all over the world, and the rules that keep it as fun .Obviously the people on the photo didn't read the rules, no down pillows.  I mentioned it to my wife after I realized what I had missed, but the look I got suggested I sit down and finish reading blog posts.  Oh well, there's always next year.y

Easter Sunday in the Christian religion is the most important day for Christians.  It signifies the Resurrection of our Lord, and represents the hope for Eternal life. Easter will be celebrated with special church services and new clothes for many as well. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 on the Prospect Town Green. The Hunt will start at 11:00 am Sharp and is for children in grades Pre-School through 5th. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Prospect CT Volunteer Fire Dept will hold their Easter flower sale at the fore house on New Haven Rd (Rt 69) on Good Friday, from 9 to 4 and again on Sat. As I was approaching a home on Friday afternoon for a final walk through prior to closing, I was pleased to see sprouts and colors representative of spring.The daffodils were starting to bloom, as were the crocus.  Large clusters of tulips were jumping out of the ground promising flowers maybe within the week.  We have not ha a very bad winter, but regardless the colors were much appreciated. Hopefully the storm that is coming our way will bypass us and we won't get the 8 inches of snow they are projecting. It's Starting to Look Like Spring in Connecticut

Back in early February, Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring. After what we experienced last year, it sounded too good to be true. After all, o year we were pelted with snow almost daily in February and it carried over into mid March as well.  So how shocked can I be as I walked along the yard Saturday, Feb 27 to see sprouts where I know the daffodils are planted?It's still a little early, and if we get more snow, which is highly possibly, these may get burnt and not recover.But for now, it is a sight to make one smile. What A Difference a Year Makes, Is Spring 2016 Around the Corner

We had a very busy December and our Christmas luncheon for friends and families had to be put off until the Sunday after Christmas.  With a warm afternoon, we still had almost 30 people in attendance, and there was also a surprise visitor as well. Even though he has had a tough few days, he still had some little presents for the kids in attendance as well as some of the adults.  While he didn't have anything left in his bag for me, he did offer to take  photo just so all would know who Santa wasn't.A good time was had by all and  I heard Santa exclaim as he was flying away:  Happy Christmas to all, and I'm off to the beach. Santa's Last Appearance before Vacation

Just before we sat down to the Traditional dinner of the 7 fish on Christmas Eve, I took this photo of the presents piled high for Christmas.  We surely gave Santa some help, and there would be some little things that would appear before the morning rush to open the gifts. It was an evening of friendship, love and a wonderful dinner. Our house has been the center of all family events for almost 20 years now, and as long as we have the strength to do it, it will continue. Our family is not overly large but it is not uncommon for us to have a hundred pass through our doors before the Christmas Holidays are over.We will have the traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas day meals. Thanksgiving at the Silva Household  All of the major holidays are centered for our family at our house.  Its been this way for over 20 years. This year we had a few extra as one of my nieces brought her finance and his family. While the table seats enough, we choose to keep the food in the kitchen and let it be served buffet style. The meal consisted of the turkey, a 24 lb bird; mashed potatoes and gravy; home made stuffing; rice; sweet potatoes, green beans; fresh made cranberry sauce; salad.It was a meal that lasted for almost 2 hours and enough turkey was consumed to have quite a few head nodding later in the afternoon.Some of the guests took food home to give us a a break with the left-overs.  We are blessed to have a full table of family and food.  Hopefully all others enjoyed as ...
