Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade 2015 The Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade is the largest single-day spectator event held in the State of Connecticut.  Hundreds of thousands of people line the streets of New Haven to watch the parade.   The tradition of the Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade was born on March 17, 1842 when a mutual aid organization formed the previous year of about 90 members of the Hibernian Provident Society marched through the streets of New Haven behind a banner made just for the occasion.   The Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade since the mid 1950's has become one of the most significant Irish events in New England and is the 6th oldest parade in the nation.  In 1999 it's prominence was recognized by the Library of Congress and...

Things To Do in New Haven-Movie Theaters   Whether you're directly in downtown New Haven or in the surrounding areas you'll find a great array of movie theaters to go to.  It doesn't matter if it's winter, spring, summer or fall,  the movie theater is always a popular place  if you're local or just happen to be visiting the area.     Nothing beats viewing the newest flicks on the mega screen while being surrounded by the delightful aroma of a fresh box of popcorn and a cold drink. A little trivia tidbit about theaters in New Haven.  One of the first movie theaters was the Roger Sherman Theater built in 1926 on the property of the Rialto move theater which was destroyed by a fire  years earlier in 1921.  It later became the Palace Theater in 1984 until that closed in 2002.  Construction ...
