Lighthouse Point Park in the Morris Cove neighborhood of New Haven CT is a popular venue for both formal and informal gatherings. What makes Lighthouse Point Park such a great destination for parties?  The Location!   I love the beach and easy access to Long Island Sound. The function room is literally on the beach, surrounded by sand on all sides. Party guests can walk on park paths, stroll along the beach or take a quick swim in the Long Island Sound.   The party hall is incredible, too. A single-room function hall is a great for both weddings and corporate gatherings. The raw, industrial feel inside is balanced by the beachfront surroundings and the giant, working carousel inside. How many parties can boast a working carousel?       If ActiveRain were to have a party in CT, Lighthous...

Lighthouse Point Park in the Morris Cove section of New Haven is one of Southern Connecticut's most popular public beaches.  Close to town, and right off I-95, it attracts thousands of visitors each year.  Each year 12,000-15,000 visitors stop through during a typical Memorial Day Weekend, and the sunny weather forecasted for this weekend should bring out similar numbers. As the case with many public parks, the parking situation near Lighthouse has been a problem for both guests and residents who live near the park in the Morris Cove neighborhood in New Haven, CT.  While both season and daily parking passes for Lighthouse Point Park can be purchased by non-residents, many guests to the park try to find spaces in the streets surrounding the park to avoid paying for parking.  This poses a...

The Sky Was On Fire With Color In Morris Cove New Haven CT One of my favorite times of the day living in Morris Cove is being able to view the spectacular sunsets blazing with color at the Pardee Seawall and at Lighthouse Point Park.  Driving home this afternoon from a listing appointment the sun was just beginning to set and it looked like the sky was on fire.  The colors in this sunset were just so beautiful on the horizon along the water that I just had to stop and take some pictures of it.    I definitely wasn't alone in capturing the sunset today down at Lighthouse Point Park.  I came across one person with a tripod taking some photos and met past clients of mine walking their dogs at the park with their camera in hand too.     Contact Donna Bigda, RE/MAX Alliance Licensed Realtor®...

Snow...Snow...Go Away......Morris Cove Was Snowed In Today!!! Call it a snow storm, blizzard or Nor'easter this one had to be one of the biggest storms I can remember in recent years in the Morris Cove New Haven CT area.  This morning you couldn't find a car, a truck or even a snow plow driving on the roads.  Around my street you didn't even see anyone outiside shoveling until after 10:00am.  Early this afternoon my husband and son started shoveling to try try and make a dent in what was more than a foot of snow and even bigger drifts that surrounded our house and driveway.  In the meantime, I gathered up my winter coat, boots, gloves and camera and took a walk aroud Morris Cove to snap some photos. Thankfully it looks like there isn't any snow in the forecast for at least until next we...

Let It Snow-Photos Of Morris Cove New Haven Connecticut In the past couple of weeks we've been hit with our share of snow up here in the Northeast with the most recent storm hitting our area again last night and a forecast of more this evening. Before going out on a couple of appointments this afternoon I grabbed my camera and tok a drive through Morris Cove to snap some pictures around Fort Hale Park and Lighthouse Point Park.  Since it was a heavy snowfall it made for some beautiful shots.  One of my favorite pictures today was taken of the Five Mile Point Lighthouse at Lighthouse Point Park.    It was the perfect day to drive around and have the opportunity to capture the beauty of my wonderful neighborhood in Morris Cove New Haven Connecticut today.     "Morris Cove Snowfall Janua...
