The Russell Library In Middletown, CT September 2016 Book Sale is this weekend.  All the Russell Library Book Sale are very well attended, however, the Russell Library September Book Sale seems to attract a higher attendance than the other months.  It my be because kids are back to school or families are back from their vacations, but the attendance always seems to be better. School starts up in Middletown, CT this week, and when my two sons were growing up the one thing my wife & I would search the newspaper for each in everyday for the month of August was the School Bus Schedule. Last week we lost power for 6 hours and I Got To Use My Generator For The First Time! Don't get me wrong I do not want to lose power and have to use the generator, but it sure feels good to know it is there when I need it.In On August 27, 2011 we got hit with Hurricane Irene here in CT.  With limited notice I prepared for Hurricane Irene as best as I could by doing most of the items listed on the Hurricane Preparedness List below.  The precautions I took were good for most of the Hurricanes we have had in the past, since most of the time we only lose power for a few hours.Hurricane Irene hit CT hard, and the CT coastline received major damage, but here in most parts of  Middletown, CT we only lost power for a short time.  However, Hurricane Irene was followed two months later by a major... 08/21/2016

 The nets are already up for the 30th Middletown Connecticut Mud Volleyball Tournament, August 20th.   Every year the Middletown CT Mud Volleyball Tournament takes place at Zorn's Pond in Middletown, Connecticut, to raises money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut. The tournament has grown each year, and there have been years in the past they had to put teams on a waiting list, because the Middletown Connecticut Mud Volleyball Tournament was not able accommodate all of the teams who applied.   This has been another excellent year of Car Shows At Harbor Park, in Middletown, CT, and tomorrow will be the 3rd Car Show At Harbor Park, In Middletown, CT.  All the car shows at Harbor Park are held on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Harbor Park is very visible from RT9, so anyone traveling through Middletown, CT on RT9 will be able to see it, and there is an exist right there.  Harbor Park hosted these Car Shows for the first time two years ago, and it looks like these car shows have become an annual event.  Harbor Park is right on the CT River, so this is a beautiful location for a car show, and I am looking forward to seeing what cars are there this year.     The Middletown Motorcycle Mania 2016 will be held this Wednesday, August 10th.  We have had a number of Car Shows here in the Middletown, CT area, but this is the only Bike show I am aware in the area this year.  This is the 11th Annual Middletown Motorcycle Mania event, and each one has drawn thousands of people to Main Street Middltown,CT to see these amazing bikes.
