The judges were harsh on her last week and questioned her song selection as being too old for her age, and her dress as 'looking like her mother dressed her for the prom'. At the end of the voting, however, she had won enough people with their voice and personality to move on. Many of the other contestants were likewise treated harshly, but understandably so when it's understood that they are trying to win a talent contest that rewards them with a recording contract and potentially sets their future on a fast path. I was intending on writing a localism post on some of the attractions and events in Middlebury, and it dawned on me that the nature walkways(?) would be an excellent topic to promote about the town... Except, I can't seem to get any pictures of them, and I really don't know (yet) how extensive they are. I do know that it starts right above Maggie McFly's on Straits Turnpike, then winds along the road(s) that lead to Lake Quassapaug. How popular are they? From what I have seen of them, they are beautiful and provide those who wish to enjoy the scenery a relaxing way to get some exercise (I have also seen bicycle riders using the trail) by doing some leisurely walking.
