25th Great Traditional Jazz and Blues Festival Comes to Meriden During this stretch of warm weather we're having, what better way is there to do some serious chillaxin' than by listening to some cool jazz and blues? Being a jazz fan of long standing, I would venture to say, NONE. This coming Saturday, July 30th, the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Meriden is playing host to the 25th Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz & Blues Extravaganza from 3 PM to 11 PM on two separate stages. Castle Craig in Meriden's Hubbard Park If you're looking for something to do on a warm Summer day, look no further than a visit to Castle Craig in Meriden's Hubbard Park. Located at the summit of East Peak in the Hanging Hills, it's not really a castle in the strict sense of the word, it's more of an observation tower, or watchtower, as Bob Dylan would say! At an elevation of 1,002 feet, the views from the tower are fantastic: on a clear day you can see Long Island Sound to the south, the foothills of the Berkshires to the west, and the Hartford skyline to the north. 33rd Annual Meriden Daffodil Festival Ready To Roll  In 1979, the first Daffodil Festival in Meriden began as a small community event. Now, 32 years later, it has grown into one of the biggest celebrations in Connecticut.
