The East Hampton High School (EHHS) Project Graduation Committee  meets the 1st Wed of every month at 6:30 pm in the EHHS library, 15 North Maple St, East Hampton, CT. The group is planning a safe and chemical free party immediately following each graduation ceremony, starting June 2009. The goal is for all graduates to be part of an all-night celebration where continous activities will be offered, including luau, rock climbing, swimming, caricatures, music, dancing, magic, relays, volleyball, karaoke and buffets throughout the night. The committee also intends for every graduate to attend for free, so fund-raising is it's top priority at this point.

The East Hampton Village Lions is continuing it's sponsorship of the "Adopt A senior Rider" program. Since state and federal aide has decreased for transportation of senior citizens, the cost to provide bus transportation for senior s has increased. Many individuals on a limited income need financial assistance for transportation. Seniors ride the bus to and from the senior center to get a hot lunch and socialization. They use their bus to get to doctors appointments and other destinations such as pharmacies and grocery stores. Each round trip costs $3 or $15 a week. The East Hampton Streetscape Steering Committee will hold a public information meeting, Wed., Jan., 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the library media center at East Hampton Middle School, 19 Childs Rd, East Hampton, CT, to discuss the proposed street-scape improvements to East High Street (Route 66). The town's consultant, TPA Design Group of New Haven, will present the proposed design. The street-scape project is funded through a $500,000 grant from Connecticut's Small Town Economic Assistance Program. Granite curbing, new sidewalks and landscaping are slated for the south side of East High Street from Main Street to Route 196. (Citizens Helping Active Military Personnel), a group dedicated to helping local active military personnel.
