Congratulations to my first time sellers Tim and Mary on the sale of their adorable 'in-town' arts and crafts style home. We were fortunate to secure an offer they couldn't refuse less than 36 hours being on the market. The road from Danbury takes them back to New Hampshire for a new opportunity for their family. The home will hold dear memories to them.Located in 4 Foster Street in Danbury, the property offers all the charm of a vintage era home combined with the modern finishes. This 2 bedroom home sits on a low maintenance fenced in yard with city water, city sewer and gas heating. Recent improvements include roof, repainted exterior siding, new bathroom floor, rear retaining stone wall and more. It was great for first time buyer or long-term investment, offered at $299,000. The home...

Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University. It was founded in 1903 as a teachers college and is part of the Connecticut State University System. It has about 6,500 students. There are two campuses, the midtown campus on White Street and the large campus off of Mill Plain Road, appropriately three miles apart.  Naugatuck Valley Community College opened a satelittle campus in the city center in 2009, and is currently expanding space in downtown. Most of the student body appears to be coming from the local area of CT or the nearby bedroom communities in New York State. In terms of housing, many students are commuters. In the area around the midtown campus of Western Connecticut, there are a lot of small apartments houses which the owners themselves tend to rent out own their ow...

Jonathan Hall of William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty's Greater Danbury Brokerage represented the buyer of this turn-key end unit townhome in Southern Danbury. Set midway between downtown Danbury and the village of Bethel, this townhome in the Summit View (10 South Street #40 Danbuy CT) this unit was just what the buyer was looking for. This 2 bedroom 1.5 bath townhome was in excellent condition for being a bank owned foreclosure. The previous owners had invested in a Kingswood Kitchen with Stainless Steel applicances, a renovated bathroom and recently replaced heat pump and cooling unit. All that was left for the buyer to do is some painting and other small decorative touches .  As a top producer at William Pitt Sotheby's, I continue to sell neighborhood homes easily at the hi...

DOWNTOWN DANBURY HOMES ARE IN DEMAND!   A RECENT LISTING OF MINE IN DOWNTOWN DANBURY AT 9 SEELEY STREET SOLD AND CLOSED WITHIN 90 DAYS, AFTER RECEIVING MULTIPLE OFFERS. THE SHOWING ACTIVITY WAS VIGOROUS AND AN OPEN HOUSE DREW MULTITUDES.   THE HOME IS A TRUE GEM IN THE HEART OF DANBURY.  IT WAS BUILT IN 1930 AND PRESENTED ON THE MARKET BY ONLY ITS SECOND OWNER, WHO HAD RAISED HER FAMILY THERE AND MAINTAINED IT LOVINGLY. MUCH OF THE ORIGINAL WOOD THROUGHOUT THIS SOLID COLONIAL HOME WAS STILL INTACT AND SHOWED BEAUTIFULLY.    THE PRICE POINT AT $239K WAS DEFINITELY A SWEET SPOT, NO QUESTION, AND THE MARKETING “FAULTLESS” (!). THE SURPRISING FACT WAS HOW MANY OF THE PROSPECTIVE BUYERS FOUND THE HOME ATTRACTIVE DUE TO ITS LOCATION BEING IN DOWNTOWN DANBURY! IT WAS INTERESTING TO SEE HOW MAN...
