Unbelievable and something none of us expected, the 2020 real estate market in Crested Butte turned into our biggest year ever with total sales volume reaching $400 million. The last time the market behaved like this it was 2005. The ski resort sold the year prior and a new wave of people came to our valley and bet big on the future of Crested Butte. Then the financial meltdown in 2008 stopped everything. Fast forward to 2020. The year started flat. Q1 was fairly quiet with only $20 million in sales through March 1st. Greetings from CB,Wow! What a ski season! With the addition of Crested Butte to Vail Resort’s Epic Pass this year, skiers (actually many skiers) from all over visited us for the first time. I think the resort put on a pretty good show. Almost 200 inches of snow fell after February 1 creating dreamy ski conditions all over the mountain. It is a true blessing from Mother Nature now and for our immediate future.
