The Town of Larkspur is located 40 miles south of Denver and West of I-25.   The town was incorporated in 1979 and today is known for the Renaissance Festival held every year in Larkspur and the Yogi Bear's Jellystone Campground.   Most homes in Larkspur are on lots of one acre or more and surrounded by trees.   You will see lots of wildlife - deer, mountain lions, bears (brown & black), fox, coyotes and lots of birds.  Going to the grocery store will require a trip to Castle Rock, and depending on where in the town you live, it could be 15 minutes.   There isn't much in the "town", but a gas station, post office, three restaurants, and of course two golf courses with restaurants.   Bear Dance Golf Course is closer to I-25, and Perry Park Golf Course is on the West side of town. The po...

Laura and I were out taking photos and video clips for a few videos last week, and ran across the huge deer, and a whole herd of antelope.    This neighborhood is not in a rural area, maybe a couple blocks off a major highway just a few miles South of downtown Parker. If you look closely, the deer was to the right of the gate.   BTW, it hopped over that 6' gate like nobody's business. Here you can see one antelope and another on the left, but as I drove around the corner, there were at least a dozen but scampered quickly before I could snap a shot.

Good News!  Counties around the Denver metro area have applied for approval to open restaurants, two movie theaters, and gyms to 25% capacity.   Douglas County will be the first, and now has 55 restaurants and many gyms are back open!  Jefferson and Arapahoe Counties have applied and are awaiting the results. In order to be able to open, the county had to have stable numbers or decrease in both cases and hospitalizations.   This is part of the 5 Star program through the CDPHE, and each business must go through this program to get approved. To see what businesses are now open, here is an interactive map.   I know I plan to check this map out and go out to eat again!
