Sunday Snapshot: For the Birds! Every year in June, the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Parker Days Festival. It's a summer carnival complete with rides, midway games, lots of yummy treats, and vendors selling their services and products. We have lived in Parker for 17 years and we go to visit Parker Days almost every year. This year we were busy volunteering for a variety of events throughout the weekend so we didn't have much of a chance to take in the sights and sounds. Late on Sunday, after our volunteer shift ended, we decided to stroll through the "marketplace" to do some shopping.   We came across some rather unique bird houses. Parker Farmers Market-Enjoy the Local Fare   We visited the Parker Farmers Market for the first time this season. The market typically opens on Mother's Day and runs through the end of October.  This year we had snow on Mother's Day, so the market opened a week later.   We strolled along Mainstreet saying hello to merchants that we knew and to neighbors and friends who were also exploring the market.   The marketplace was busy with adults and children, strollers and 4-legged companions walking along investigating great finds. There was a line to purchase fruits and produce.    Everywhere we went, vendors were offering samples of the products. Of course we had to stop to try some blackberry and peach fruit cobbler.
