Echo Lake is located at the foot of Mt. Evans in Colorado.Mt Evans is 14,240 feet to the summit.  Along the way up you will see mountain goats and Bighorn sheep.  In the fall you will be surprised at the beautiful fall colors of the Aspen trees. Mt. Evans is the highest paved road in North America. It is 33.5 miles west of Denver.  The road to the summit is closed now for the season but will reopen May 25th 2012.                    If you are visiting our mile high city of Denver be sure you adjust to the altitude for a couple of days and be in good health before you attempt the extreme high altitude.The air is very thin and altitude sickness is not fun.  Make sure you have plenty of water with you.As you are driving down from Mt. Wednesday, my business partner, Belinda, and I went on a day excursion in the Rocky Mountains to take a quick break from real estate. Our final stop of the day before heading back down to Denver was St. Mary's Glacier.  Neither of us had been there before.  We were driving around Idaho Springs when Belinda said "Let's take that road to St. Mary's Glacier". I didn't expect it to take 45 minutes of winding mountain roadsto reach our destination, but it was worth the trip.  This was the most scenic stop of the day.  I was amazed at how many homes there were along the way.  How do these people live up there are year long battling the harsh winter snow storms? During our day long, Rocky Mountain excursion yesterday with my business partner, Belinda, we stopped in Idaho Springs and walked around the town. Idaho Springs was formed in 1859.  The elevation is 7,540 feet and the population is 1,755. Idaho Springs is the largest town in Clear Creek County with lots of local mining history. In the center of town is this historic train #60, Old Smoke and Cinders. Here is a picture of the Charlie Taylor water wheel.  They say that Charlie Taylor never bathed and never kissed a woman.  Maybe it was because he never bathed that he never kissed a woman... The waterfall is frozen but water runs behind the ice.  Soon it will be warm enough to melt all of the ice and we will see a full blown water fall.   03/17/2011

I went to the office today ready to get to work and my business partner, Belinda, said "Sorry but I have other plans for you". I pulled out my TO-DO List and told her that I already had things planned for today, but she just wasn't hearing it. She told me to get on the highway and head west, so to make life easier on both of us, I followed her instruction.
