 Borrowers tend to think that a late mortgage payment is reported on the credit after the 15th day of each month. Wrong !!!   Lenders report on your credit a late mortgage payment after 30 days. So for instance whether you have to pay the 1st of every month and the lender receive the payment on the 27th of the same month that it is due, you are fine!!, but lenders generally will charge you an additional 5% late fee after the 15th day grace period + the interest accumulated that it is not reflected at that time or charged to you that time.
