Yucaipa is a city that lies in the inland valley east of San Bernardino. It's in the low lying hills that climb up to the Banning Pass that goes into the desert communities around Palm Springs. In the summer, it gets really hot, like most other inland valleys in California. If you have a yucaipa home and are looking to beat the heat, then try going to the Yucaipa Regional Park! Today I was working on a project to add an informative page to another Realtors website about a new area he will be servicing, Pasadena. I personally don't know anything about Pasadena other than it's in the LA area. So, i did a bit of Googling to find out what the city was like, what it looked like, and what I should expect as far as landmarks and traits. I am sad to say that it took me 3 hours of research to be able to patch together a page with 3 paragraphs of basic information about the city and a couple of publicly available royalty free pictures of the city.  For consumers out there here are some tips: if the results for "cityname real estate" don't give you sites that actually have information about your city I would advise you to got to flikr.com and look up the photos listed fo...

A couple years ago I wrote a short article entitled "Give Yourself the Gift of Giving" giving tips on how to contribute to charities and to others in need. Well, this time I'm asking that you forget to look to your community and remember animal rescue agencies in your area need your help too. This is a picture of my dog Dobie (with one of his favorite people, my granddaughter, Micheala)...O.K. you may be thinking "yeah,so" but when I look at him no matter what kind of mischeif he has just gotten himself into he makes me smile. And let's face it, some days you need a smile and someone who is always glad to see you.We found Dobie at the local animal rescue, Yucaipa Animal Placement (YAPS - (909) 790-1440). They had rescued him from a nearby animal shelter & he was very close to his last d...

It's only my opinion, but............Something for nothing............isn't that what everyone wants? Whether it's finding a cherry 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe that's been hidden away in a barn in the outskirts of Trona for the past 40 years, or getting the Steal of the Century on a home, it's what we're all looking for. It's this type of mentality that relates to the current California real estate market that I'd like to address. As one person who contacted me recently looking for a home stated, "I want a brand-new, 5,000 square-foot, 6-bedroom, 4-bath house on 20 acres with a lake view, but I don't want to pay any more that $125,000 for it." I may be exagerating a bit, but I think you get the idea.Or the person thinking about selling their home: "I know the values of comparable ho...

If you're reading this page, no doubt you are aware of the recent downward swing in the California real estate market in the past months. This trend has left the current real estate market with a large inventory of properties at reduced prices, many of which are bank-owned, foreclosed, HUD and short sale properties. Why the current influx of so many properties? A lot stems from the loan industry crisis; home owners who were otherwise not able to afford to purchase a home, did not have a down payment, did not have the income to make a large monthly house payment, and/or had questionable credit were offered "creative" financing terms from lenders eager to lend money. Adjustable-rate mortgages, known as ARMs, were especially prevalent in the subprime market. They are considered higher-risk...

Recently a client was advised by her brother a local Assessor not buy for another two years as the market would continue to fall. He may be right, no one knows right now. My take is that it is affecting the lower to medium homes a lot harder than the higher end as it is mostly the Sub Prime mess that is causing this and those buyers tend to be in the lower priced property. We are still seeing a relatively good market in the higher end homes and there is not a lot of quality inventory in that range. It is definitely a buyers market which benefits anybody looking to purchase now. The forecasts I have read recently indicate the market stabilizing over the next 6 months with prices rising moderately again towards the end of 2008 and then back to a normal market by 2009.So for at least anoth...
