Some of our real estate transactions create fleeting memories that hang around for a few days after closing and then we promptly forget all about them as they go POOF and something else takes over that position. It seems for me that it's the more challenging real estate listings that I seem to remember for the longest period of time. The listings in which not necessarily the parties to the transaction were a problem because many uproars are not caused by the sellers nor the buyers -- it's those pesky third-party people that can disturb what would otherwise be a nice, smooth escrow. I just listed a home on a former golf course (now private park) in the Lighthouse Marina in West Sacramento that has such a gorgeous panoramic view in the back yard, I'm certain buyers will want to buy that home for the view probably more so than its almost 5,000 square feet and 7 bedrooms. Fabulous views can sell a home, even if the home is lacking in upgrades. I bought my own home mostly due to its 1/4 acre lot and treetop views. One can fix an interior. It's harder to change the location, but it can be accomplished. Presto, chango, nothing up my sleeve. Not every home I sell is in an excellent location like the Lighthouse Marina.
