Torrance-Walteria CA real estate comprises a mix of the old and the new. With many homes built in the 1950's or 1960's and numerous contemporary newer homes. The homes in this section of Torrance are really located in two distinct neighborhoods which are divided by Hawthorne Blvd, but both areas of Walteria are located at the foot of Palos Verdes. Here you often get a rural feel, with old shade trees and many of the streets without sidewalks.   The real estate of Torrance is primarily mixed with mostly single family homes and a small percentage of townhomes and/or condos. Torrance is a stable area economically because of the many employees in the area. 56% of Torrance homeowners have lived in the their home over ten years! Walteria is amongst the most attractive and desirable South Bay...

Ok. Back again. Why not check out our local Musical theater company, Torrance Theater Company at the Torrance Cultural Art Center?? They're performing "Pirates of Penzance", a classic musical at the James Armstrong Theater tonight and tomorrow. Tonight at 8pm and tomorrow at 2pm. Tickets are $25/$22.50/$15 (students). They do charge a $2.50 fee as well so include that in your budget. Better than schlepping up to Hollwood and forking out $100+ at the Pantages right?? NO it's not the Pantages but its pretty good entertainment for the price and it's right around the corner too!! The Box office phone # is 310-781-7171. I think you'll have to go there for the show tonight and tomorrow to get the tix but you can get any info you don't see here at those numbers!!     Torrance Aquacade Splash D...

Does anyone know about train laws? ARE THERE train laws? These things go at any and all times of day or night. It seems like they come by just when the baby is going to sleep, has JUST drifted off to sleep and right when my wife and I sit down to relax. Are there regulations about the amount of times they are supposed to blow their horns? How long they can blow their horns? How many TIMES they need to, or are allowed to, blow their horns? I'd love to hear feedback about this. Being a new member of Torrance as a resident, since May, our lovely town has that ONE mar.. the TRAIN!!! Thanks for any feedback you can give. I'd love to have it for myself and my clients.

I had the worst experience with my wife and 7 week old son a couple days ago. Due to circumstances beyond our control we got to the airport 25 minutes before takeoff at Portland, Oregon airport. We had already checked in but they would not give us our boarding passes. They stalled us by ignoring us until the flight had taken off (there were only three attendants at the 11 windows and one left without so much as acknowledging us because, as we found out later, she was almost off and didn't want to have to talk to us and make her late to clock out and count out her drawer), made us get a flight the next day, which meant getting a hotel room. The baby was exhausted, my wife was and so was I. I wrote a very long letter explaining every detail about it to United. Anybody else have an experie...

It was not that this charming cottage was not well kept.  From the second that you walked in the door you knew the house had been well maintained.  It was clean and freshly painted.  The kitchen was cute and functional kitchen.  The appliances that were included were newer.  The large living room had two closets and there was a formal dining room.  The only bedroom was big and had a large walk in closet.  The laundry room was a big as any bedroom could be in a approximately 950 square foot house.  The carpet and the drapes were freshly cleaned and most of the seller's furniture was gone.  The elderly seller, in her 80's had chosen by her own decision to move into an assisted care facility     The buyer just loved the house.  The formal dining room could be used as a second bedroom.  T...

First Time Buyers Can Receive up to $75,000 in Down Payment Assistance for Eligible Homes in Torrance    TORRANCE, CA - Located along the Pacific Coast of Los Angeles County, Torrance is the heart of the South Bay.  Having grown up just north of Torrance (Santa Monica), I can remember when I was a kid visiting with family that lived in Torrance as well as neighboring Palos Verdes.  Back then (circa late 60's and 70's), Torrance was a really small community that was more well known for its shopping, oil rigs and employers (some of the biggest in the area for that time) than anything else.  Today, Torrance is a city of nearly 150k residents and still growing every year.  I'm dating myself with this comment, but I remember the Del Amo Fashion Square going up with all of its high-end depart...

Homeowners can make their homes rise to the top when they really understand the principles of home staging and have some direction. Home Staging Designs of California did an "occupied consultation" for home staging in Torrance, California.  This included picking out the paint colors and giving careful directions on what they could do to improve their property for sale. As you can see from the pictures, they caught the vision and did a terrific job. I expect a very quick sale on this home in a great neighborhood. Open House on Sunday, April 11. 22635 Fonthill Avenue Torrance, CA 90505 FROM THE SELLER:  Trying to decide where to begin was my big problem. I am home-decorating challenged, but Beth gave me the confidence to do the job.  She walked me through my house and helped me pick out k...
