South Bay 2023 Year End Market Report South Bay real estate market was a seller's market in 2023. The buyer demand was lower than in the previous year due to higher mortgage interest rates and very low inventory of homes available for sale. Home sellers who had in recent years locked in historically low interest rates on their loans have stayed put. Thus the imbalance in our market. It was back to normal for home sales after a brief slowdown due to a lack of homes for sale in the earlier months of 2022.  March, however, was a big month for home sales in the gated communities of Plaza Del Amo in Central Torrance.  There were 10 closed home, townhome and condo sales in Plaza Del Amo in March.   Of the 9 one was in the 55+ Tradewinds building, 2 in Springwood, 1 in Windemere, 1 in Chatelaine, 1 in Hickory Park, 1 in South Bayport, 1 in The Breakers and 1 in Belmar.  Take a look below. Simply put, September was a HUGE month for home sales in the city of Torrance CA.
