This will be the 12th year of the Reign of Terror Haunted House and there have been some changes annually to keep guests on the edge of anticipation.  The Haunted House has gained national recognition and now serves as the gateway to all Reign of Terror attractions. The Asylum is a deranged psychiatric institution staffed with mad scientists, nurses and a variety of other highly qualified lunatics.  At Reign of Terror, we provide nothing but the best care for the criminally insane!  Check in if you dare! Something revolting happened in granny's house - the Blood Manor.  This attraction may be highly inappropriate for children.  There will be an opportunity to skip the Blood Manor tour for those who are sensitive to gore and suggestive scenes. What is a Short Sale? As Written by Jeremy Brandt in Foreclosure/Short Sales .A short sale is the sale of real estate in which the sale proceeds fall short of the balance owed on the property. It generally occurs when a borrower cannot pay the mortgage loan on their property, but the lender decides that selling the property at a loss is better than foreclosure. Both parties must consent to the short sale process, it allows them to avoid foreclosure, which involves hefty fees for the bank and poorer credit report outcomes for the borrower. It is becoming a common practice as so many home owners owe more than their house is worth. In a short sale without recourse, the lender does NOT pursue the home owner (borrower) for the forgiven debt. Otherwise the lender may sue the home seller for t...

Just released on mortgagedailynews.com BY JANN SWANSON The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has modified the existing policies related to two of its assistance programs to give unemployed homeowners additional time to obtain a job before losing their homes. The changes impact FHA requirements and the Making Home Affordable (MHA) program. The changes to the FHA’s Special Forbearance Program will require its servicers to increase the minimum forbearance period for qualified homeowners from four months to 12 and servicers participating in the MHA Unemployment Program (UP) to extend the current minimum forbearance period from three months to 12 where it is possible under regulator and investor guidelines. Forbearance is a strategy designed to give distressed borrowers extra...

How is "farming" like the Spaceship Messenger orbiting around Mercury? The Spaceship Messenger has finally, after 6 1/2 years of rambling around the universal neighborhood, successfully entered into orbit around the planet Mercury. Now it has 12 hours to run completely around the planet! "NASA's Messenger spacecraft fired its main thruster in a 15-minute orbital insertion burn Thursday night to slow down by about 1,900 mph (3,058 kph), enough to enter Mercury's gravitational influence and settle into orbit around the planet. It's just all coming together and we are really ready to learn about one of Earth's nearest neighbors for the first time." says NASA. How is this like farming a neighborhood? 1. It takes a long time of traveling around the neighborhood Farming to finally get accept...

What to do with a selling client who thinks their way of decorating is the best? Call in a pro - that's what I did today. I have a seller preparing to go on the market and the house is bulging with stuff! Marcia Smart came in today for 2 1/2 hours, we went through room by room, corner by corner, took quick notes, snapshots. Viola! The owner "gets it" now, and it was economical. The owner got a handwritten blueprint and I will pop over during the weekend to make sure they are on the right tract.  Thank you, Marcia! You were pleasant, tactful and skillful. AND my client listened to you, because YOU are the expert!

Okay, we don't look forward to it... But the view outside is looking spotty and smudgy.. smurky... dull. Well, after this next rain, it's time! Especially if you are putting your home on the market! To clean the large windows in most California homes, first you need quality window-washing tools: * Clean cloths * Newspaper * Bucket * Whiskbroom or brush * Stepladder or step stool Washing Windows Next, prepare: Be sure you have removed or repositioned the shades, blinds and curtains, then dust frames and sills off. Wet your window with the sponge side of a rough two-sided sponge, then flip to the white scrub pad side, and scrub the window. Keep scrubbing until it sparkles, otherwise you'll have dull, streaked windows when you're all done. With the squeegee, soak and swipe each pane. At th...

The Conejo Valley Parks and Recreation Department and the city of Thousand Oaks, CA, is expanding and improving the Oakbrook and Oakbrook Highlands tracts by making additions to the 14 acre neighborhood park. It's going to be such an asset to the community! Walking trails, expanded grassy area, picnic area, trees and some limited parking are some of the improvements being constructed right now.The work should be done by mid to late summer. Such a nice thing for the community!
