Now that you have found Roripaug Ranch, here is a little info about the development KB homes is putting in.  It is roughly 200 homes total, spread out on 2 different tracts and part of the gated part of Roripaugh Ranch in Temecula, there are already homes for sale as you can see here.  Standard Pacific has taken a "Casual Luxury" approach to the homes they are building and you will see, that this implies, some nice touches on how the homes are put together. They are also offering two different tracts in this area, one slightly more upper scale then the other.  Standard Pacific builds a nice and very good quality home. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that effective December 1, 2013 they would be reducing the owner occupied bidding period from 30 days to 15 days. Owner Occupancy Period has been reduced on HUD Homes Prior to December 1, FHA insured HUD homes had a 30 day owner occupant bid period. The first 10 days are a sealed bid period for owner occupants only and then the next 20 days are a daily bid period for owner occupants. Last week the Senate invoked the “nuclear option” and the housing market might be the beneficiary. The President's nominee to head the FHFA will have a lot to say about it. What is the nuclear option? The "nuclear option" would be the changing of Senate rules to enable judicial and executive nominees to be confirmed with just 51 votes instead of 60. Apparently you need 60 votes to do just about anything in the Senate but change the rules. That only takes 51 votes. The symbolism of "going nuclear" also portends a sort of mutually assured destruction in the future, to borrow another Cold War term. Democrats won't always control the Senate. IRS Is Figuring Out New Ways To Tax Homeowners On Short Sales And Loan Modifications. The Mortgage Debt Forgiveness Act (MDFA) is set to expire on December 31 and has some folks doing their best "Chicken Little" impersonation. According to an article in “Mortgage Fraud Investigations” the IRS is “essentially figuring out new ways to sidestep the spirit of a law passed by Congress that exempts homeowners from declaring as income any forgiven debt from short sales or modifications.” The proof is in the form of a letter written by Michael Montemurro of the IRS to our very own Barbara Boxer (D-CA).
