Thursday's bond market has opened in negative territory again as investors sell holding to capture profits form the recent rally. The stock markets are showing minor losses with the Dow down 2 points and the Nasdaq down 10 points. The bond market is currently down 2/32, which will likely push this morning's mortgage rates higher by approximately .125 of a discount point. The Labor Department posted weekly unemployment figures this morning, saying that 322,000 new claims for benefits were filed last week. This was close to forecasts and has not had an impact on bond trading or mortgage rates. The week's most important news will come tomorrow morning when the Commerce Department will post July's Durable Goods Orders. Monday's bond market has opened in positive territory after the stock markets have failed to build on Friday's rally. The major Dow and Nasdaq initially opened with modest gains, but have since fallen into negative territory with losses of 22 points and 5 points respectively. The bond market is currently up 10/32, which will likely improve this morning's mortgage rates by approximately .125 of a discount point. The Conference Board reported late this morning that its Leading Economic Indicators (LEI) for July rose 0.4%. This indicates that economic activity is expected to increase moderately over the next three to six months, but since it matched forecasts has had little impact on this morning's mortgage rates. There is no relevant economic data scheduled for release the middle part of th...

After reading Ana Connell’s blog about what Burbank is doing for the environment, I got to thinking what is Simi Valley doing…..well hers the answer.     Ventura County is helping you become greener.  If you own a gas powered lawn mower, and you turn it into the city they will give you a huge discount on any electric mower at Lowes.  This is for a limited time only, so if you would like more information regarding this program click here.

Simi Valley Real Estate You may find this information useful and possibly even timely.  Above all, take it as an example and a possible inspiration to contact a professional accountant, CPA or attorney.  To determine your gain, you should go through a series of calculations.  An example:  You purchased your home for $250,000                      You sell it for $700,000                      You spent $20,000 in eligible purchases and upgrade expenses (taxes and major improvements and $49,000 in selling expenses (which includes real estate commission, exise taxes, title, escrow, etc. Be sure and check with your accountant for allowable expenses). Subtract the selling costs, approximately $49,000, from the closed sales price $700,000, giving you a total of $651,000. Add the cost of your m...

Simi Valley Real Estate WendysHomes.com  Tips everyone should heed. Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, review these things that you can do in an emergency situation. Share with your spouse, your children, everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, send them to someone you care about.  It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in. 1. The elbow is the strongest point on your body.  If you are close enough to use it, do! 2.    A tourist guide in New Orleans suggests this;  If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM, toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse.  Run like mad in the other direction!  3. If you are ever thrown into t...
