Well folks, you need to PUSH AHEAD your clocks one hour tonight before you go to bed. Just got used to them being turned back, didn’t you?     And since this is the time of year that we put our clocks ahead, you don’t want to forget … because if you overlook doing it, you’re going to be late for either church … or golf … meeting someone for breakfast … or at the very least show up late for whatever you may have planned. Think of the poor people that have to catch airplane flights … or trains … or buses; should they happen to forget to put their clocks ahead, someone is going to be left behind!   However, with all the publication that is put out on TV, radio and in the ...

It hasn’t been that long ago that the Santa Susana Pass was the only route between the San Fernando Valley and the Simi Valley; long before the concept of the 118 Freeway.   It is believed that the passage was used as long ago as 8,000 years by the Chumash, Tataviam and Tongva tribes. The downward side (San Fernando Valley) was perceived to be so steep (dubbed the Devil’s Slide) that the horses had to be blindfolded and the passengers exited the stagecoach walking to the bottom for their safety. Chains were even used on the stage coach acting as brakes on the sh...
