Since we were in the area anyway, what the hey, it seemed like a good idea to plan a trip to La Casa Grande, otherwise known as the main house at Hearst Castle in San Simeon. We grabbed a quick breakfast at The Oaks Hotel in Paso Robles and headed downtown to shop at a few stores before driving 45 minutes to Hearst Castle for our tour.We pulled into the parking lot and quickly found a spot.
