Wordless Wednesday: The Lady in the Green Dress We spent several hours at Balboa Park on Saturday as part of our anniversary celebration. Some of that time was at a wonderful and intimate art musuem, the Timken Musuem (free admission) that features a collection of European masters, American 19th Century art, and Russian icons in 6 rooms. Part of the reason for going was to see "Leela - Portrait of a Woman in a Green Dress,"a modernist installation by local artist Bhavna Mehta, inspired by the 1530 painting by Bartolomeo Veneto, "Portrait of a Lady in a Green Dress" also in the museum (see photo at bottom). This almost-lifesize "sculpture" is all paper, folded and cut. Truly amazing and beautifully colorful.
