A Bridge (Not) Too Far: Out & About in San Diego

I love discovering little tidbit historical facts, especially “local to my neighborhood” facts. It’s funny what you see and discover when you walk instead of drive. Even more so, when you leave your cell phone at home (or at least in your pocket) and keep your eyes open. I’ve driven over this Sorrento Mesa bridge in UTC, which serves as the Eastgate Mall overpass @ the 805 Freeway (and my shortcut home), at least 2,000 times in the last 11 years of living here, in San Diego as a UTC resident. I never knew the history of it, after all it's just an overpass on a backroad. But, today I jogged it with my dog, Peroni.
