The Synchronicity of Real Estate - Working the Process with Steady Results--I was up in Mount Shasta yesterday meeting a client about a commercial listing. It is a referral from ActiveRainer Cristal Drake. I first heard from Cristal about 10 days ago and we exchanged information and both agreed to just see what happened. She eventually sent me an email with the client's email and I sent him a email introducing myself and providing an overview of my business. Days went by and then I received an email back that I would hear from him same day. I did and we talked and set an appointment for the coming Sunday. I did research on the property and prepared my list of questions. We met yesterday and spent time together learning about each other and the property. We are listing the property in th...

The Melon Meter App puts science to work answering the age old question, "is this melon ripe." "Let There Be Light Innovations" of Redding CA, has proven once again that smart people provide simple answers to complicated questions. A couple of truckloads of watermelons and 2 years in the making the inventors now provide a science based iphone app to determine if your next watermelon is ripe. The app doesn't determine how sweet the melon is, only if it is ripe. You don't have to leave your social media friends out. The app also allows you to share the good news of your melon's ripeness via FaceBook, email, etc. Melon Meter App Review: Our personal experience found the app easy to use and the meter determined the watermelon pictured to be "ready." Our three person panel of judges (read=f...

Have you noticed the forces of; Initiation-Momentum & Transition at work in life and business? Initiation is that catalytic moment in life that puts change in motion. Perhaps a job change, a desire to start a business or buy a home. Some are initiated by us and some for us. Realizing it's positive potential is key. Momentum is that show of force, if leveraged, that can minimize effort as resources seem to fall in place. Making adjustments as the pieces come together will serve to maintain momentum. Transition is that ha hah moment when the fulfillment of the plan or dream is realized. Transition can often reveal that the sum of the parts really are greater than the whole. History is full of stories of people and businesses; Some who's experience looked like a "Rube Goldberg" combinatio...

Showing Instructions are so important. Do you agree? Showing respect to the seller or the tenants can be so crucial or critical to the success of the transaction. Protection is what we offer as Realtors. It applies to the Seller but it also applies to the tenant. Showing respect is always a premise to success and makes practical sense. I currently have a listing for a short sale that has very cooperative tenants. The property just went back on the market after a Buyer did not accept the Bank's counter. The tenants in general have been somewhat protected with a quick offer and acceptance initially. With the bank counter, the buyer dropped out. Back on the market with a showing frenzy has produced some very offended tenants. I have to say that I cannot disagree with their offended status....

What is that quality that people possess that you cannot put your finger on? It is somewhat elusive and defies expression. I see it all the time in my travels. One person has an uncanny ability to add just a few touches that provides crispness and refined clarity. It can be in a well laid table, the exterior of a house or in the way you design and layout your website. I am always captivated by creativity and the simple touches that show care and style. I love a house that has that traditional English touch. For me it is such a winning combination to see a lovely home with a taupe exterior paint, high gloss black and some white trim, and brass accessories. Add beautiful custom awnings to match and oh my, what style! Well, at least for me. Style is subjective, of course. I love to marvel ...

The Day After - A Tribute to the Power of Kindness and Courage! I had no words to share Sunday only time to contemplate our loss. I read many posts in honor and tribute of the day. I was moved many times. There are times when words fail me and I must seek profound inspiration from others. Such was the day for me on Sunday, 9/11/2011. While I still have no words to express my heart's ache and the sorrow of remembrance, I choose to focus on the goodness of that day and the courage of so many that met the day fiercely. It is with your action and sacrifice, that many knew comfort and the extended hand of help. God bless us all and in particular those who came to help! Such courage is marked in time and holds us high. The Day After - A Tribute to the Power of Kindness and Courage The power ...

9-11 is one of those days. A day you always remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news. I join with our Nation today in remembering with a thankful heart the men and women who responded to assist in the midst of tragedy. I also remember today, "Freedom Isn't Free."

Friday Fun on Sunday Revisited - David Gendron - Photo Artist--I keep missing my Friday Fun Day when I share David's Photo Art. Our work as the Local Listing Broker/Agent for Pemco Limited is keeping us busy. We like the work though and especially the trainings. I've needed a change and this appears to be it. We are enjoying the traveling aspect of working the three counties of Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama. We figure we can always combine it with taking Ginger, the HUD puppy and localism photo shoots. Can't get better than that. It sometimes messes with my scheduled blogging events and marketing, however. So coming to you late, again is my presentation of one of David's Photo Art works. The Market is Hot - My Hair is on Fire - But I'm Lovin' the HEAT--this last few weeks have been "HOT" to say the least. The term "Hot" can mean several things and literally in this case it does. Our temperatures have been "HOT" and our market has been "HOT" and I've been so busy that it feels like my hair is on FIRE! We are seeing multiple offer situations all over our market. Every single good deal out there is being snatched up. What happened? Record low interest rates have helped Buyers move that have been waiting. Pent up demand is flooding the market and we have good movement. It is wonderful to be busy and to see activity in the market. I'll take "HOT" any ole day over "COLD".My listings are getting offers and my Buyers are buying. The numbers are working and that added boost from...

My tag-line is that "I answer my phone". Is that unusual? It is a rhetorical question, I believe it is but should it be. When you want to know something and you go on-line and find good information, what do you do? You pick up the phone and call to inquire or to order. As a real estate agent, how many lost opportunities occur because you do not answer you phone. I find that in my day to day business, a key component of my successful closes have to deal with me answering the phone. People are looking for connection and they are looking for it to be real-time. Is this unreasonable? Could be or at least I think it is but the reality is that we live in an instant gratification society. The early bird gets the worm. I always get those wrong...but I think that one is right. I am a see and wan...

Shasta County Homes Sales are up 2011. 1,576 homes have sold year, to date 2011, versus 1,364 homes sold for the same period last year. The present inventory of 1,234 homes listed for sale represents a 6.26 months supply. A 3 to 6 month supply is considered balanced between a Buyer and Seller's market. Market Report I enjoy statistics. I don't mean pouring over data and creating reports. I enjoy a quick review of past market history combined with a view of present market conditions. It seems some business managers only see the dirt in the mine shaft while others are looking for the gold. We're hoping you are able to capitalize on some of this market's golden opportunities.
