I've been blogging a lot about our trip to Eureka and what a wonderful time we had. We have a new place to explore and we are very taken with the area. We've always lived near the coast and spent many days and weekends exploring the California Coast. We are headed back for Thanksgiving when we will have more time to have fun. We visited the The Redwoods along the Coast near Trinidad. We drove to the top and enjoyed the silence of the deep forest. As we turned onto the road, I notice a huge paved lot and said to David...."Wow...what was that"? On the way back down we stopped to look at it and realized that it was an old lumber "processing yard".  Redding CA - Visiting Eureka's Samoa Island - Photo Extravaganza--we recently made a weekend trip to the Coast and spent time on Samoa Island on a foggy Sunday morning. We had adventures and many wonderful subjects to photograph. As a budding photographer, I wanted to stop every 2 seconds to take a shot. David was very patient with me and I finally asked him "Why he was not taking shots"? He says...."Oh, it does not much matter what I shoot....I just take it wherever my inner voice tells me too." I knew this....but I had to have a debate with him on the subject. We continued the day and every once in a while....he'd take a shot. Redding CA - Redding Real Estate Market Report for October 2011, we are seeing some changes in the real estate market here in Redding, CA. In the last two months our inventory has been dropping. We are seeing a significant change in inventory. Redding Active Listings in 2010 for the Month of October was 765 and for October 2011 it is 427. This looks like a game changer. We are seeing a busy market on the lower end with multiple offers on well priced properties. This may be the beginning of a changing market trend from a Buyer's Market to a Seller's Market. Shasta County Homes SOLD $500K-$999K 2011: The region's inventory continues to decline. The number of homes sold is up 20% over last year at this time. 36 homes have sold year-to-date, 2011, versus 30 homes sold for the same period 2010. Presently there are 95 homes listed for sale in the Shasta Association of REALTORS MLS. The region's market recovery is being aided by numerous factors. Shasta County Homes Sales November 2, 2011 The market's inventory continues it's steady decline, while home sales continue to exceed last years results. Current MLS results report 1,091 homes listed for sale. The present inventory represents a 5.4 months supply. 2,012 homes have sold year-to-date, 2011, versus 1,734 homes sold for the same period last year. A 3 to 6 month supply is considered balanced between a Buyer and Seller's market. Real Estate Market forecasting can be challenging. However, we do know Shasta County's declining inventory and increase in home sales are keys in the supply and demand equation. As a Realtor, I live by the Code of Ethics. I live it, I breath it and I apply it. It occurs to me at times that while it does hold Realtors to a standard and code of performance, it can at time hold the Realtor in "Harms Way". While we as Realtors are bound by the Code of Ethics, our clients are not. I have recently been working with an Investor client and it is clear to me that while I respect him, there is not a reciprocal respect for my professional experience and opinion. I will choose not to work with this client. This is a good decision in my personal and professional career. Today is Thursday and I have so much to get done before tomorrow. I have to get endless details taken care of today. We have a booth at the Home Show this weekend and will be busy most of Friday through the weekend and tearing down on Monday. It will be fun and we've been planning lots of fun things for the Show.
