California Existing Home Sales Down in October 2016 from September 2016I was reading an article from the California Association of Realtors that showed California home sales statistics for November 2016. Sales were down from last month but up from last year at this time. Here is an excerpt from the article from CAR:Existing, single-family home sales totaled 442,320 in November on a seasonally adjusted annualized rate, down 0.1 percent from October and up 17.7 percent from November 2015.The statewide median price decreased for the third straight month but remained above the $500,000 mark for the eighth consecutive month. Today, I went to show a home in the over $700,000 range and for the last year, there have been multiple offers on most homes that averaged well below that price, so I was rather taken aback when I called the listing agent, to ask her the status of the property. In the competitive offer environment we've been having, it's become the norm to find out this kind of information before showing property. The home had only been on the market for 5 days. Well, she didn't waste much time; she told me they were in a multiple offer situation and the sellers were getting ready to accept one of them.
